I thought what the OP wanted was putting around on the weekends and not something serious like track days right after driving off the lot. He'll come back and correct me if I'm wrong
Understood and agree: this applies to ediff cars only.
The 4000rpm limit for 1500 miles is exactly because of it. While track driving will cause extra strain on ediff due to freuqent turns, even spirited driving above 4000rpm can achieve it if the circumstances are right as it will pit more strain on a new ediff. Hence the restriction. The manual even warns to take it easy at first track event lest the ediff can get damaged and void a warranty (page 205 of 2017 manual). It also requires to change ediff fluid before and after a first track event.
And it also specifies "similar activities" vs just track events, which is pretty damn broad. Anyhow, enough said The manuals are a bit of a mess imo and could have done a better job presenting the info. But if one invests the time to read them all, it is all there, black on white.
Cheers!
