The LT1 has a compression ratio of 12:1, that is beyond 91 octane in certain conditions for full HP & TQ
Actually...the LT1 is 11.5:1 compression. Point is, it's not going to gain any more power beyond premium fuel without tuning.

Not gain power, but not have power retared under the right conditions.

I am not trying to make more power, I only want to have access to the full stock rated power under all circumstances, something that 91 octane can't always do.

Incorrect...

The Camaro gas tank is 19.8 gallons. Some places in the USA sell 10% ethanol gas on all grades, 87 thru 93. Texas has 91 E10 and 93 E10 on their pumps.

If you want to run some E85 in the tank you can run 2 but no more than 3 gallons of E85 to a tank of 91/93 octane gas. This will get you to E10 and the car will drive just fine with no issues.

The only bad is you wont have any way to see how much Ethanol you need for subsequent fill ups unless you keep a spread sheet. If you know how many gallons it takes from a certain point on the gas guage then you can add 10% E85 in order to keep the ratio at 10%.

I know that at the half mark on my gas gauge it takes me 10g to fill up, so I could add 1g of E85 in first, then add 9g of 91/93 pure gas to the mix and it will keep me at 91/93 E10 ratio.

Also there are advantages to have 91/93 E10 in the tank. It will raise the octane rating and will keep detonation down better than running pure 91 only.

I have several logs on my 17 Camaro SS and my 2016 GMC Sierra 6.2, same engine in both vehicles and both run 91 octane pure gas as that all we can get where I live. Both vehicles showed events of detonation, both were reduced or eliminated when they have some Ethanol in the gas.

The shop that put my Procharger D1SC on my car actually suggests running 91/93 E10 in their builds along with the Meth Injection they install. Even when we had days of it being 110° here I saw no detonation while logging the car. I did have the car setup on E85 for almost a year so I still have my sensor installed and running and I run E20 now along with the meth injection.

I ran my truck on hand calculated E10 for months, ran alot better and detonation was almost fully eliminated in the logs from the E10. I just converted my buddies 2011 Camaro SS M6 to E85, he did the same thing and ran 3g of E85 for a couple of weeks and noticed improved throttle response and less timing pull versus the 91 octane only.

Most places in the country sell 10% blend fuels these days and all newer cars are programmed for it. The factory stoich value in my ECM is 14.08. So if you add a couple gallons more to the system, it will throw the fueling off some. I believe all new NON Flex Fuel vehicles are tolerant up to E15 without tuning.

can't use pump e85 to bring octane up. The biggest reason why is because the octane rating is, because you won't know the ethanol content.

To use a higher octane fuel as an octane fuel is simple math right? if you have 1 gallon of 93 octane, and 1 gallon of 100 octane, if you mix the two together, you will have 96.5 octane. simple enough right?

well with e85, the octane and ethanol content vary so much. That's why you need a flex fuel sensor. So what you might get at the pump one day might be 97 octane e85, and the next week, it could be 104 octane. So it makes calculating how much you need to add, to boost your octane rating, rather difficult.... unless you plan on measuring the ethanol content every single time you fill up

You could use racing e85, but that would just be a wash, because that costs just as much as race fuel.

Yeah better off to buy a case of torco fuel accelerant and mix in the minimal amount which will take 91 to 93-94 in a low dose all the way up over 100 octane max dose. The stuff works good.
