Intercooler pump cavitation

Hey guys. I was reading up on the Vette forums and it seems that a lot of the ZO6 guys are having issues with air in the coolant for the intercooler . It seems the air causes the pump to shut off due to cavitation and then the engine pulls timing. Is this an issue with the ZL1? I haven’t really seen any complaints on here about it. Just curious. What are y’alls thoughts

Yes, air in the system will most definitely cause these pumps to cavitate and then it shuts off and IAT's climb.

What is the best aftermarket tank that is reasonably priced?

I use the ADM setup...simple and it works great!

I just got my reservoir kit from ADM. Just as an FYI, they’ve changed their design with a new bracket. It didn’t fit well on my 2018. It’s going to take a custom aluminum spacer and bending the ADM bracket to make it fit properly. At least on my car.

That said, I still like ADM’s reservoir solution. It looks OEM, and the supplied hoses are nice. I’m just waiting on some Oetiker style clamps to use for my final install. I hate the worm clamps they supplied.

I hate the worm gear clamps too...I decided to use a more factory looking constant tension clamp like the factory heater hoses & radiator hoses.

Has the reservoir been working well for you?

I may use spring clamps instead of the Oetiker (crimp style) clamps. I’ll figure it out when I finally put it together.
