Anyone broke their Drivers side axle or half shaft..

Can the axle break due to bolts backing out? what's the chances of coverage at 36,997 miles.

Hopefully they'll do a goodwill repair at not even 1000 miles out of warranty.

Happened to me not too long ago. I had 21k Miles on it
Bolts came out. Have them replace them with longer bolts. I know there’s a TSB for it.

Mine literally just blew up yesterday driving home found this while searching for other people with the issue. I'm hoping it was just half shaft and not diff but it looked like bolts were loose because they came out very clean and didn't shear or break in the hockey puck looking thing

I guess this falls under the bumper to bumper and not the powertrain warranty coverage? I have 49k on mine and I'm paranoid that mine is will come out and cause something to break. I'm not sure how it would, unless the bolts are allowed to get loose enough to get some backlash in them and snap something. I still find this just really hard to believe though. I also wonder if there is a build date they fixed this issue, since I think mine was a early 2017. I still had the bad fluid and had to get the transmission flushed for the TC shutter, so I'm wondering if they fixed this issue by then, because it's got me paranoid haha.

Was this on the ZL1 or SS?

It was the SS I'm glad we didn't race the ss at cfest.

All but one bolt left all looked to back out.. the last one sheared off.

The bolts are all marked with blue paint pen from the factory I kinda make it a habit to look at them every once in a while and make sure none of them have moved.

Fangool, I’m going under the car tonight. Wanted to wait for the next oil change but better than getting stuck

Edit: paint on the bolts are still aligned on both axles. 1/2016 build date

My left axle broke a few weeks ago at 23,000 miles and was replaced under warranty. The service guy said it was a known issue.
I would hope it would be covered under the 60K miles powertrain warranty.

I hope they fix under warranty road side assistance is coming after right now for free. not that I couldn't fix it.. just I have some money to do a cam swap and didn't want to get into that fund..

Btw.. a symptom might be when you accelerate hard on the highway like a 3rd gear pull when tires to dont break loose.. the rear feels a little loose. That's the only thing I noticed, took in a month ago they replaced both rear shocks and alignment. Guess they didn't even look at that part.
