MBRP Exhaust and OEM rear bumper will it fit?

Hi all, I've purchased a MBRP axle back for my '18 2SS - and I am wondering before I begin this install, if the rear openings in the bumper will fit the new tips? they appear to be pretty similar to the OEM dual tips...

if they will not fit then what will I have to do?

The MBRP tips are bigger than stock but they should fit ok. You may need to do some massaging of the pipes to get them angled perfectly since you have the rear valence that wraps around the exhaust tips. Before you install try comparing the tips to the stock ones.

When I installed my MBRP system I had to stick a spare piece of pipe in the tips and bend the rear sections to get the fit right. IMO the fitment out of the box isn't great.

ok, thanks, how close can they be to the opening without there being a problem (melting paint?)

I had the same system on my '17SS and it fit just fine with no worries with paint issues.

Just installed the MBRP axle back system yesterday. Mine fits well enough. Did it at home and didn't have a way to bend the pipes so they are just a tad bit close to the inside of the openings but they are even on both sides.

The tips are about 4in so they certainly fill the opening.

BTW. I love the new sound. Not much louder than stock but a deeper tone.

cool, that worries me, supposedly this was the loudest system available... I prefer much louder than most people - most people's definition of loud, I consider to be quiet.... EEk

Loud is subjective. It's a deep rumble. There are a number of systems that I've heard that are far louder but have a very raspy sound to them. Friend of mine has a Corsa system on his Vette and it's the worst sounding system I've ever heard. The sound is very high pitched and hurts your ears while driving.

the MBRP system is nice and deep and you don't even know it's there cruising.

Well I'm definitely glad to hear it has a good tone!

not knowing it's there when driving bothers me though, I want to be able to hear the car, that was my whole reason! The whole idea is to sound not stock, be noticeable.

Well I've already bought it, I guess I'll give it a shot and if it's not loud enough I'll keep searching!

Let me clarify. When cruising, open road hwy, cruise control one it's almost silent. My guess is that has more to do with the cylinder deactivation and those stupid values further upstream than the system itself.

The moment you crack the throttle you know it's there loud and clear.. If you drive with the paddles and keep it out of 4cyl mode it sounds awesome.

ok cool! I have a 6-speed and no 4-cyl mode. So should be good!

I have the MBRP axle back and I really do like it. Install is pretty easy but you may have to mess with it a little to get it lined up looking straight. The sound is nice, louder than stock and deeper for sure. It's not over the top loud but I'd imagine that with headers they'd be really loud.

cool! - I am just tired of the 392 Challengers sounding way better and louder than my car is bone stock. I like loud cars... if I step on it and pass someone, I want to rattle their windows a bit, ya know

The MBRP is definitely a sound improvement, that's for sure. I have no regrets purchasing mine, I would like to get the black exhaust tips but they're more pricey than I thought, four of them will run you over $300...just for tips. Start ups on cooler mornings is awesome, it roars pretty loud for a good minute or two.
