My Hellcat has been pretty much flawless ,but I dont beat it like other probably do. From what I see the ZL1 is pretty bulletproof too. I would be more concerned about what you are looking for in a car than the reliability as they are both mainly reliable. These are two very different cars and offer very different experiences. You should drive both if you can. I love them both and getting close to adding a ZL1 to my stable in the fall.

Only problem I had/have is that the rear tires wear out really fast....

I have the headliner fitment issue that’s a PITA to fix because it requires removing the windshield, and who knows if the new one will be any better.

And my wheels click around turns. Re torquing wheels only fixes it for a few months (and mounting surfaces are clean).

Both minor details. Car is amazing in every other way.

That does not sound like an issue. That sounds like fun. Mine has the same issue.

And yeah the Expedition is for practicality. At first I had talked myself out of the Camaro because it was only 4 seats and we’re a family of 5. But then I Remembered my dad made a 4 seater work with a family of 9!
Yea that is one thing I love about my HC as opposed to the ZL1. Pulley and tune and you're making 750ish to the wheels on 93 octane in a HC. That is about $3K in labor. And even then you can go much higher for not much more money. The ZL1 needs cam, ported heads, bigger blower, etc to get to those numbers. I was disappointed when seeing quotes of $15K and $20K on my ZL1 to get to what the HC would make for $3K-$5K. But to have that kind of power in a car that handles as well as the ZL1 would be incredible.

Had a hellcat before the ZL1. Traded hellcat for the zl1 and no regrets. Hellcat just felt like a boat IMO and the ZL1 just feels nimble and planted at all times. And the Zl1 feels just as fast if not a little bit faster. Just my thoughts.

Get a Hellcat and ZL1

But seriously, depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you like a nice big comfortable cruiser with plenty of room, that is also a straight line rocket, Hellcat. If you're into drag racing and modding your car for more power, Hellcat. If you're into curvy roads or racing on a circuit, auto-x etc, ZL1. If you like a tighter cockpit with that "fighter jet" feel, ZL1.
