zl1 blower on lt1
So there is a possibility that I will be coming into a blower from the zl1 for super cheap with everything that comes with it, I was wondering what else I would need to swap to my lt1. The forum is kind of vague, so I am looking for I guess a parts list to see if it will be worth it, then I can work on getting the installation instructions. Thanks

yes... I hate this part shops don't like to post secrets.. Well I have a SS with a blower and Zl1 I think it should be straightforward with 6 or so things being a little different and things to scratch your head about.
1. 2 options Coolant wiring in to the ECU for the electric water pump that cools the blower I'd use the directions from eforce setup a lot easier and nothing to have to mess w ecu.. you will need all the special quick disconnect hoses from GM unless you got them they are the coolant lines.. if any way possible see if you can get a larger reservoir (not sure where and you may have to fab) and dual pass exchanger like edelbrock's.. 2. The fact that valley covers are different from a LT1 vs. LT4 wondering if you can plug the hole on the bottom of the blower and use the PVC diverter from mighty mouse or elite catch cans to reroute the PVC or just buy the correct valley cover plate either way you do not want oil getting into the blower the way the factory sets it up. 3. Blower cars usually have a harness that ties the IAT and MAf and map together.. you will need that or what ever GM does since its a LT1 motor may source it from edelbrock 4. Tapping into the vacuum line for the blower valve again see eforce directions 5. 3 options for mounting the blower.. drill your heads, buy the spacer that has the correct holes to mount a lt4 blower on a Lt1 ebay or ADM or buy lt4 heads 6. the balancer pick up a used LT4 but in doing so that will be about 9 psi at least on a Lt4 motor it does it may be better to run a lower ATI super balancer so you can swap blower rings easy and change psi easy.. either way you have to pull the balancer for an extra belt to drive the blower.. I'm sure some shops run a cheap oem lt4 balancer and change the upper.. I think the lower is a better option remove the blower belt then 3 small bolts the blower ring comes off then add the new ring to change boost.. otherwise you will be pulling snout on and off.. here is a vette swap I saw should be identical except for small item being in a different location and the belt diagram I think if you download the eforce directions which are on the site you will be golden its close enough to get you through.. there cut actually comes with small runners that allow you to mate the blower on the lt1 heads so that part will not look the same..

The LT1 has the MAF and IAT in 1 sensor, the difference is the LT4 has two temp sensors for airflow, 1 before the blower and one inside the blower. It also has 2 IAT tables which adjust timing depending on what the IAT values are for the incoming air charge.
