I would get your fill tube looked at. It might be kinked or something.

My wife’s ‘11 Equinox did the same thing—the gas would overflow everywhere. Took a video of it and showed it to the tech at the dealer & they had to replace the entire gas tank because of the issue. After that, everything worked fine.

I just filled up for the first time. The Nozzle released at 3/4 of a tank. I didn't attempt too top it off after remember something I read in the manual.

Reading the manual it states not to fill with more than three clicks with the nozzle or something or other may be damaged. ( I don't have the manual handy right now ).
What are they talking about with ' three clicks '?

Gas stoping at 3/4 full.

Hello,

I just bought a new 2018 Camaro 1SS Automatic in white; first V8 in my life!!

However, I am having same fueling problem that few ppl mentioned on this thread. Through out the week, I tried fueling my tank at multiple gas stations but it always stops at 3/4 full. Did anyone find any solution for this? I willl really appreciate if someone can direct me to the right direction. I already contacted the dealer, and the service adviser said that they will have to remove the tank to investigate the problem if refueling does not work. I would hate to have my car torn apart especially when I just got it.

I have the same issue. I'm scared to take it in for some techs to molest the car so I only put about 15 Gallons in at fill ups so it doesn't spill.

I still have my 2014 SS, and I've had this problem for a few years now. I took it to more than one dealership while it was still under the full warranty, and as typical, they all said they couldn't duplicate the problem, so nobody fixed it. Finally, I took it to another dealer recently for a completely different repair, and the service advisor said he believed it was some kind of shut off valve. However it's now out of warranty, and I would likely have to pay for the repair. I contacted Chevrolet customer service, but they were useless, simply saying I would have to bring it to the dealer to be diagnosed, and I would most likely have to pay for the repair. It seems ridiculous considering it was under warranty when the problem began!

Have you guys experimented with how far in you insert the nozzle? All the way in vs only a little bit it?

Mine clicks off, but every fill-up, I pull out the nozzle and gas spills all over my vehicle. I've tried shaking the nozzle before taking it out with no avail.

No fill up issues, but I use the same stations most of the time.

First fill-up yesterday at Costco. No issue, gauge at full. Edit: It was at full....heh heh heh...

I'm wondering if the pump flow is a little high it might kick back more fumes and clich the pump handle off. Setting fill on halfway on the pump handle might help. The overflow mentioned above sucks.

I usually set the nozzle at the lower fill speed. Only once or twice have I had a problem with it not filling up. Sometimes the sensor on the pump seems to be too sensitive.

Nearly 30K miles on my 2017...never had this issue. I push the nozzle in until it stops...pull and lock the trigger at full flow rate. I don't hold the handle while filling. When it clicks off, I unlock, pull the handle almost all the way out, jiggle the handle a bit while raising the handle to get the last bit of gas to drip out, then pull the handle the rest of the way out and put it back on the pump.

I seem to remember that on one of my very first fill ups, I didn't quite get it to a full tank. No issues since then.

I think the key is to get the nozzle all the way in at the start of fueling, barring any mechanical issues with the filler tube or nozzle sensor.
