Borla Catback and secondary cat delete in Texas

Has anyone in Texas done the Borla Catback and secondary delete? I want to be sure it will still pass emissions as it is my daily driver.

I did a Borla 60606 (secondary cat delete into an X pipe) and recently had the car inspected in Texas. There was no emissions testing and besides, if you get the car up to operating temp before the exhaust is tested the primary cats will scrub the exhaust well enough alone.

I have not done this but I have researched and plan to do this very soon. Secondary cats are not monitored. Therefore, as long as you have a good weld/seal on your "new" exhaust you should not throw a code. Being that they do not do sniffers on these cars you should be fine as the Primary cats are the only ones in the "loop".

17k miles no cats and headers.. daily every day! just get it tuned by ADM, Baileys, or 21st muscle. No ck light PASS!

If you start messing with the secondary cats it may anyhow knock out the warranty.. We all know it shouldn't but its there discretion..

So, the "resonators" are emissions devices (i.e., secondary cats)?

No and no. Secondary cats are not resonators nor are they emissions devices (ie not required to pass emmisions)

If a warranty is ever going to be a issue for ya, I would not modify anything past where a kit from a manufacture hooks up I.E. cat back! otherwise they would not be selling 50 state legal C.A.R.B. certified.. me I don't car if you don't have the money to repair your car from modding it you should leave it alone.. The emission test will pass in texas if a tuner fixes it to.. I haven't been to a place yet in Dallas or Houston that visually inspects for cats or puts a sniffer in... there are some but, if you go there your a idiot.. just saying!

search phastek borla xpipe look for blue 1le YOUTUBE

Check out the Phastek video on my friends car with Corsa and Xpipe... we put on the Corsa then Ricardo @ phastek put on the Borla X pipe my buddy races his 1le he would not do a thing to jeopardize his warranty.. that's about as loud as you can get without bending the rules or having a dealer put up a stink if a issue were to arise.. Remember a catch can caused a warranty claim to be denied!
