Will Shorty Headers cause Codes and Need a Tune?
I'm thinking of installing JBA Cat4rward Shorty Headers to my 2016 SS. Does anyone know if it will need a tune or cause Code issues?

Ive just finished installing Hooker Blackheart shorty headers and a full Blackheart exhaust with the second cat delete all fitted perfectly and no tune required no CEL codes just sounds absolutely awesome now definitely recommend the Blackheart systems

Won’t throw codes because the stock cats are left in place. Thing is though shorty headers by themselves will do very little for performance or sound over the stock manifolds. I did shorties on my 5th gen and ended up pulling them off for a set of long tubes and a tune.

why replace the factory tri y shorty headers.

Not worth doing shorty headers one these cars. May see 10-15 hp if that.

I doubt it is even close to that...The stock tri-y's are pretty good, but the primary cats are restrictive on the inlet side. half the gains from any exhaust mod on these cars is by removing the primary cats.

Are long tubes still worth the money with high flow cats? Are the gains still worth the money? Or you have to go catless?

yes they are worth it. You only lose like 2hp going catless. All you gain is the stink.
