New here...about to order my ‘19

Hi all - new here.

I just sold my 2016 Mustang GT that I had Procharged and am looking to order a ZL1 this week. I have a neighbor who works for GM get one, and after driving it for a half hour I think the ZL1 is an upgrade in every way over the Mustang. The Mustang was a great project but I’m ready to move on to something more ‘complete.’ (I thought about the GT350, but I don’t think it’s much of an upgrade over a Procharged GT Performance Pack.)

Just torn on color right now. Cannot decide between NFG, Red Hot or Summit White. I know there are some new colors for 19, but really haven’t dug into those yet.

Leaning towards 6MT, as this is not a daily driver and just a fun second car for me. The active rev matching sets it apart from a regular 6MT for sure.

Just wanted to say hi to y’all. Any ordering tips I should know about? All I’m looking at option-wise is the PDR and carbon hood insert.

Mine is NFG so I'm obviously biased on the color...have you seen the rear end on the 19 vs the 18?? I think GM screwed up the tooter!! If I were looking, it would be for an 18.

You can't go wrong with either tranny...I am loving the A10.

Good luck & welcome to the forum amigo.

Thanks man. Yeah I’ve seen the new rear end, I sort of like it actually. I think it’s one of those things that will grow on people. If I found an 18 for the right price I’d take it, but they seem to be in very short supply, at least around me (in Michigan).

I think NFG is gone for 19, and replaced with a few other gray variants.

A10 all the way. Go drive one before you make that crucial decision.

You'll love it. I sold my 2015 GT with a Whipple for a ZL1. ZL1 is probably 100 less rwhp, but the automatic is amazing.

I’ll probably be doing a manual, as this will only be a summer/weekend car for me.

Has the move to the ZL1 been a huge upgrade over the Mustang? My 2016 GT with the Procharger is very nice, but the ZL1 seems to be a far better overall package (and you get a warranty to boot). My GT put down 618 HP/475 ft lbs. The additional torque on the ZL1 was immediately obvious when I drove it.

Wow...guess I'll need to get on GM's page whenever they announce to see what's new.

I struggled with both color & tranny choices myself but elated with the outcome.

For sure, it's more comfortable to ride in, probably better noise insulated. The magnaride is awesome. yeah ++ Warranty . Plus the front end of the ZL1 is amazing looking. My Mustang did 656rwhp/521ft ft/lbs

I posted a new thread just a few mins ago that has GM’s internal 2019 Camaro playbook attached. Check it out. It explains everything about the 2019 options and colors.

I have always went with black but this one was a change to white, love it. However if I was getting the 19 I would seriously consider the satin gray.
