So, that's a 1 second gap in a 1/4 race? Jeezus.

All assuming equal start/reaction time obviously. I have a high ten second car and run a lot of cars in the high 11 to mid 12 range and it’s not pretty. Especially when you tree them. It’s 10 cars minimum imo |

that is true the more i think about it cus assuming both have normal launches, the Zl1 is going to jump out 2-3 cars from the start and continue to pull so.

1 second at 120mph is 176 feet (5280*120/3600). So yeah 10 cars is in the ballpark.
And the bone stock m6g GT fast list has only one car on it: 12.3. Where did that 11.9 come from? |

Motor Trend was 12.1, have not seen Car and Driver. The only ones below 12 were tuners or Evan who went to do what he could to get the fastest time on a very prepped track. Have not seen a mag test below 12.1.

We are getting away from the point here that the GT is a Zl1 slayer. Since the fastest pubbed GT time is 1.1 sec slower than one of the slowest Zl1 pubbed times. I'm strictly taking C@D's results.
Let's just take C@D for an example. They show a 11.5 1/4 time vs the GT's 12.6 1/4 time. And that was M6 VS M6. Not M6 VS A10. So, a 1.1 sec difference from the same mag. We all know us privately owned drivers on both sides have ringers so those are the outliers. Now, if you come back to this planet and line the GT vs the SS up, then we can actually start having a grown adult conversation.

12.1 for the Auto. 12.6 for the M6. Just looked it up.

He is talking about this test: https://www.cars.com/articles/can-th...1420699990226/
After reading it tho, it seems they went sub-4 sec 0-60 but it was a 3.99 and that was using a GPS data logger. What I don't understand tho is if they used the data logger to get the 11.9 or if they used the actual track timing. In the pictures it shows them at a track but that might have been just to keep things legal. So to me it looks like they used the data logger to get the 11.9 in which case I have to say I doubt the complete accuracy. If that data logger is anything like these vehicle's on-board timer systems then they are known to have some deviation from actual track times. I've seen people report anywhere from 2-5 tenths faster times using this type of equipment over actual track timers. |

Here is more info on the data logger they used: https://www.vboxautomotive.co.uk/ind...-iisx#overview
Again, it says they used it for the 0-60 of 3.99. But they didn't indicate if they used it to get the 11.9 quarter mile. And they didn't say if it was an 11.90, 11.95, 11.99 or anything other than "11.9". Maybe they couldn't break 11s using the actual track equipment so they had to use the data logger, lol!! |
