Just did a 420 mile round trip to Cleveland, all on one tank of gas and still had an eighth of a tank left. 2016 SS with A8. Averaged 28.6 mpg. It was all highway driving. I was over 31 for awhile but construction screwed that up, and my right foot started pushing it to 80 when I got through that. 😀

you can't trust the lifetime early on. idle time and test drives tank the mileage. reset the trip meter and run it for a couple of weeks and see what you get.

obviously, smiles per gallon over miles per gallon. Having said that. I do drive mine to work sometimes, 31 miles. maybe 1-2 miles of that is backroads, the rest being freeway. I can set cruise at 72, and consistently get over 30 mpg per trip.
on not-so-spirited tanks, I have had the guage cluster read 32 mpg average for 25 miles, 28.5 for 50 miles, and 26 for 400. I just filled up this morning and it's telling me I'll have 446 miles to that tank. now, I've not checked any of this with a calculator at the pump at all, this is just going by what the cluster is telling me. |

My 2018 SS (just hit 400 miles yesterday) avg 23.6 mpg over an 80 mile quick road trip on the Turnpike. Six speed manual. Was cruising between 72-75mph. Did some back country driving too. I did see a high of 28mpg briefly...but MPG is not a consideration when I bought it...but it does get better than expected! My grin and overall happiness in the car is a larger factor

I have a 2SS and average 21.x mpg. Mix between highway and city. I drive 80+ most of the time on the highway. I turned off AFM and my mpg did not change at all.
CAI and Diablo Tune/AFM off/93 octane tune . On trips I average 26 mpg |

On my highway trips in my M6, I can run 25-28MPG. Otherwise I'm 18-20.

I get about 15-16 mpg in my auto. I am an easy driver too. But my drive to work is only about 5 miles. When I take a road trip I get about 28-30mpg.

Much or even most of the time a pre-sold ( make that pre-customer delivery ) car is spent at near zero MPG. Has a huge effect on lifetime average of a relatively new vehicle. Also, good to see my own MPG results mirror the vast majority on this thread: 23-25 MPG. More on the highway. Fantastic for a car with such a fire breathing engine. |

Purchased the vehicle with 81 miles.
It currently has 773 miles on it. Lifetime Fuel Efficiency is stated as 12 MPG. So I have put 692 miles on it, doubt the average MPG is totally from tests drives in the first 81 miles. Any idea what I should do? Cold Tire pressure is: Front Left - 34 Front Right - 32 (I think there is an issue with this tire) Back Left - 37 Back Right - 35 Been driving it in Tour mode the entire time. Been babying it until I get to around 1,000 miles. Would say maybe 150 -200 miles I put on is highway, otherwise street. 91 Octane (Highest I can get). Oil life is 91% Right now there is 13 gallons of gas in the tank, and it says I have 168 mile range which comes to 12.92 miles per gallon. Last trip per Chevy Remote Access: Hard Braking 0 Hard Acceleration 0 Late Night Driving 0.0% Distance Driven 11 miles Fuel Economy 11 MPG Average speed 14MPH Speed over 80 MPH 0.0% Based on the numbers you guys are posting, there has to be something wrong. And no, I don't weigh 500 pounds (165), not carrying anything in the vehicle other than my keys, wallet & phone. Cannot figure this out. Any ideas how I should proceed?
