I swapped my 1ss seats for ZL1 Recaro's and while the 1ss seats are a little Spongier(word?), The bolstering on the Recaro's cant be beat.
Wish there was lumbar adjustment though. |

One thing I have tried which helps is to adjust the seat back to a more vertical position so that the entire seat back contacts your back. This seems to dissipate the contact with the wings. Agreed, that adjustable wings would be great!

They are awesome. I also keep the seat back more upright. They are about twice the size of the buckets in my 308!

Mine are fine. Wish they had lumbar adjustment though. The elbow pad on the door... whew, that is another story - super uncomfortable.

I have comp seats in my vette and they are amazing for spirited driving but they beat you up pretty good for daily driving. One of the reasons I’m conaidering a Zl1

I find the seats to be very comfortable. Not only that but they hold you in place during hard cornering. I don't have any problem with it.

It could be a little lower but due to the construction of the seat interior you can’t slide in anything super close to the bottom but it’s close enough to work, has a small hand pump like a blood pressure cuff uses. It’s nicely constructed with the bladder sewn into a fabric pillow like case and very thin when deflated. Not too bad to get it in, took about an hour or so. The seats are fairly complicated inside with the heating and cooling and a bunch of other stuff. It does cut off the cooling where it’s located unfortunately but it’s not a large area so it ok. Be careful if you open up these seats, there’s some very sharp metal stampings in there ! You might do a search for one, it’s possible they’re still made by someone. My back got very sore before I put this in and now I’m fine and do adjust it as it expands when it gets warm. Another solution is have an auto upholstery shop make one the sits in the lower wedge of the seat or one for the inside. |
