I lowered my 1le today

After much thought on whether or not to do it and is it worth it, I decided to do it anyway. I chose Eibach Pro ending# 03-22 specific to 1le. The car was just lowered today and already I can say I am happy with the drop. I measued before and after and it sits a 1/2 inch lower. That doesn't sound like much but it is very noticable. It's not slammed by any means but its a nice clean up job. Like where it should have been from the factory. Ride quality is great so far. I was actually aiming for potholes and bumps just to compare to stock but it is very comfortable. I can't speak to track performance and probably never will be able to. Here are some picks.

Before:

During:

After:

Pictures really don't do it justice. In person it's much more noticeable and it hasn't really settled in yet.

Very nice man. If I do mine, I plan on going with the BMR springs because they offer a little less drop, but still noticeable.

The one thing I do not want to do is negatively affect the awesome handling and balance with the MRC.

I can speak to that after i put a few more miles on it. I only basically drove 15km to go home. What I can say is I always drive in sport but that kinda feels like tour now. Track is my new street fun setting. lol

On a side not I also ordered the z26 pads from Powerstop. I can't deal with ALL that break dust anymore. Sooo bad

Nice! I was thinking of this as well. I think 1/2" is perfect. Were you saying that sport mode now feels like touring mode with the new springs? Are they a bit softer. I track my car quite a bit always in track mode and for DD I am always in sport mode. Cant stand a soft mushy feel like touring offers. So My question is if Track feels like Sport, it would prob be less aggressive and planted in hi speed corners I assume correct?. I ran the Z26 pads on mine. worked great. they will dust a little bit but nothing like the black dust from stock pads. I will say the stock pads have a better stopping feel IMO.

Yeah, I wondering the same thing, seems like it would be reversed.

I don't know if I would say less planted. It's comfortable in all modes. Track feels like sport to me now. But still a great ride in handling and comfort. When I go for my back road runs I will know for sure if I hindered the handling performance. I did it for looks more than anything.

Yeah, please report back after you get to play with it a little. I agree it makes it look better, but I wouldn't trade handling for it.

For me its performance first, looks second.

Looks fantastic, however i would not want to mess with spring rates of such a fantastic handling car. I'll wait for GM performance lowering kit to come out.

To be honest though, GM did a pretty good job on this car for wheel gap. I mean at least it doesn't look like a 4X4 like some of their performance vehicles of the past.

Sure, it looks better with less than stock gap, but it isn't horrible.

I absolutely love the lowered look. To me the stock wheel gap is embarrassing...nice job brother!
