Ya would be smaller cramped and couldn't put my cooler in the trunk or my daughters goalie equipment I don't like a cramped small car, this gen Camaro is not on my wish list now an 80-81 or a 87-90 Z28 or Iroc that is and more my type and I could care less about track times unless it is quarter mile. The back seat on the Challenger folds down so I can even get her sick in the trunk does the Camaro back seat do that?

Exactly! The thing I love about the Hellcat is that it has extra room to stretch out and can fit lots of stuff in the trunk. And on the interior it is easy to access the storage compartments and back seat. Plus ease of getting in and out. That is what attracts people to it. The fact that you don't have to be 5'7" to be comfortable in it. I mean, I love my ZL1 too. But the Hellcat is just soo easy to drive. Plus it doesn't push you to extremes like the ZL1 does. When I wanna relax I drive the Hellcat. When I wanna rip up the roads I drive the ZL1. If they were to cut weight and thus make it smaller I'd likely be looking at something else like a CTS-V coupe or Trackhawk.

Back seat in the Camaro folds down, can get into trunk and from the trunk into the passenger compartment. You can even remove that part of the back seat once its folded down. I have driven and owned 80-81 Camaro's and 87 to 90 Camaro's. Once you drive a 6th gen , you will push the 2nd gen and the 3rd gen into the woods and leave em there. MY 6th gen V6 manual, will destroy those earlier gens in every single test and I regularly hit 31 and 32 mpg on the hi way.

I like the look of the 80 Z28 350 4sp and in Canada you could still get the 350 4sp in 81 so that is what I will be looking for next year, my wife likes the 89 Iroc so hope to get her that after I get my Z as far as these cars not having the performance of the new cars that is ok getting the 80-81 is more just to relive my childhood not always about how fast you can go around the track.

Believe me I understand, my praise for the 6th gen is after 8000 miles on the street every day. No track stuff, no nothing just every day driving on all different kinds of roads. Its just blows away that simple basic experience that cannot be achieved on any of the earlier gens. The alpha chassis is that good.

PP1 to SS is fraction of a second .39 iirc. The PP2 lines up with the 1LE now.

Pink looks good on you though you should make it your default font color.

PP1 to SS? That’s great! Unfortunately the PP1 is a white knuckle ride and the SS is not.

I had high hopes the combination of the 2018 refresh, the new Performance Pack goodies, and MagneRide would fix things. Nope. The car rolls over on itself and seems to not only understeer but also to try and oversteer at the same time. Like the front and back aren’t actually connected. Jethro kept pointing out that although the Ford felt bad going into a corner, once you were actually in a turn it was pretty much OK. “There’s a good car somewhere under there
Fun trivia. Did you know the V6 1LE is the SS with 120 HP less? Here is how that lines up with a GT to give a sense of how a real SS would go.

That's just the tires. Throw those same tires on the Mustang and it'll do the same thing. And the Mustang would have done better but the tires were 1 day old and they didn't replace them with new ones so it wasn't a fair match. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I don't think the issue is marketing. I see the biggest issue being price, and the second biggest issue being practicality. I came very close to buying either a 1SS 1LE or a 2SS 1LE but none of the dealers near me wanted to make a deal. $1-1.5K off MSRP was the going rate and they were trying to rape me on my 2016 Z51 C7 trade in. The Chevy salesman just was not very good. He didn't seem to know much about the C7 or the SS 1LE. He made me wait even when I was very clear on price and had to get back to work. The sales manager tried giving me sob stories about how used C7's don't sell and he was going lose money as it was on my trade in, etc.

In the end I was selling the C7 because I wanted something more practical and the Camaro didn't make sense. I test drove a Mustang GT PP1 twice and I was disappointed with the driving dynamics vs the Camaro. Camaro was a much better drivers car and it wasn't even close. Then I drove a Focus RS. Four doors and useable backseat and more of the driving dynamics I was looking for. Salesman was awesome and they gave me $2K over KBB on my Vette and $5K off the RS. They sold my Vette in less than 3 weeks.

I still wonder if I would have been driving the SS has the Chevy dealer even tried to make a sale. They were just terrible.

Every drive through I go through, I usually get a "nice car" or "I like your car" comment.

To bad the youngsters probably can't afford one:(

If GM can't sell the 2018's, they're going to be in a world of hurt with the ("cosmetically challenged") 2019's.
