Thank you for all the info. I just ordered the Borla "s" catback for mine. That cut away pic of the factory muffler is very interesting. I have been trying to find a cut away pic of the borla muffler on the "s" type but can not seam to find one. Anyone have one?

And this control is done by the second CAT.
Despite that I don't see the use for the second CAT especially that it's not monitored by the ECU. And as I heard the the ECU will sense the 2 CAT removal or blockage.

It's just my theory,

Not really. I've done this on Camaro's and C7 Corvettes (all with 2 sets of cats) with absolutely zero CELs. The rear cats are not monitored. While an air leak can lead to a CEL and under this scenario it becomes more possible (seemingly), I have not seen one with an exhaust that does not leak.

Never seen these systems sense the rear cat removal, and it has never concerned me.

That all being said the rear cat removal is of course for off-road use only, and for now the ZL1 1LE will stay stock haha

Are you talking about the second cats being empty? They are not (I can take a pic if you like). Just want to make sure I read your post right before going into the spare parts with a camera lol...

I ordered it from Colorado Speed a week ago. They were out of stock but should have some soon. I’m not in a hurry so I don’t mind waiting. Going to have the system ceramic coated before putting it on.

What's the current lead time?

Last I talked to them about a week and half ago when I ordered it. I was told it would be to them in a week or two then ship out to me.

Side note, you and I have the exact same car. You also seem to run the same tracks I frequent. ( Seca and Sonoma) I am just outside of San Francisco. I am guessing you are probably not too far away from me. Good choice on the color!

If it's a CAT it will be fitted for easy removal, as CAT can get faulty.
Maybe it's for sound control, ZL1 is loud as stock.
But a pic is always nice.

I ordered mine from Autohance.com https://www.autohance.com/borla-s-ty...em-140726.html
Discount code 5OFFBOR got some money off.
Ordered Wednesday June 27th and it was Monday the 2nd
Think it was more expensive then Colorado Speed by a little, but I am impatient and being in stock and not a guessing game when I would actually get was worth it to me.

Side note. If you are running 2" headers, no cats and this exhaust, Be prepared to have some pissed off neighbors when you start the car. Once the valves close in stealth mode and the car is at idle it is about the same volume as sport mode on the factory setup. I will try and get a sound clip sometime today. I actually like how the 3" Kooks sounded better on the car but it was louder inside the car at cursing speed. Not horrible but my wife didn't like it. We go on a lot of road trips. Happy wife happy life.

Will it's very strict in here about loud cars.

It's a cat bud. Easy removal is rarely a priority for car manufacturers these days, but this one is very easy to remove. Here is a pic of the element inside.

Very easy... the hardest part is the drivers’ side since it is on there pretty tight. We just use a long prybar between the x and the trans housing and it pops right out. Considerable sound increase by removing them.
