Just back from racing my '18 ZL1 in Michigan 1/2 mile.
I actually ended up breaking and had to tow home to Chicago, but before that, have some experience with what you guys are saying above.

I figured TRACK mode and RACE PTM would be the best for launching...it's not.
The race is held on air strip, so no traction. In beginnig, I was feathering throttle 1/2 way through 1st, then to mat. Only get 4.0 on the 0-60 'ometer. I then tried matting right from start and it totally falls on face. Was so violent, thought something wrong, but see on PDR replay it's traction control. Thought in that mode i'd just sit there and smoke the heck out of the tires. NOT!

She broke on 7th run at the big end, service rear axle, service stabilitrac, check engine...have the 100 hp bolt on's (Ported TB, headers, pulley, tune). Only 2600 miles on car so will see what is and then wrestling w/dealer begins!

I will be interested to try the Performance stuff in SPORT mode. Didn't know about that one, but as you guys have figured out, TRACK mode in RACE is NOT good for launching on a drag run...

Wow..please keep us updated with your repairs. As I understand it, these cars are warrantied for breakage on the track as long as they are stock...is this correct?

Sneeze the wrong way in these cars and these lights will come on.

This can be electrical (low voltage, wiring rub-thru, etc.) or mechanical. Was the wiring mod (TSB ) done on the car?

Good luck with the fix.

Thanks for possible ideas. Would be REAL cool if just a plug wire...
And my Tuner upgraded me to MSD's and colder plugs, but if on a header guess that don't matter!

Not sure what the wiring mod is so i'm going to guess they didn't do that.

It's sitting at the tuner and will find out soon i hope.

I will start another thread tonight.

There is a wiring bundle on the passenger side that if not secured out of the way can lead to burn through from the header heat.

And the one down at the bottom of the engine that they add some wire mold to to prevent a rub-thru and shorting because the harness is too tight against the block.

Take a look at the post in the ASK AL posting. Clearly stated is that best times achieved launching with traction control off ( one button tap). Here is the link, hope this helps:

Hadn't seen that post. Thanks. Is that mainly for the M6? Hadn't heard about that bog for the A10...that's what I'm driving. Was thinking I'd get crazy wheel spin and not big bog...

However Al is referring to M6's....he definitely seemed to distinguish between launching the M6 as opposed to the A10 but didn't explain what if any the different method is. ..
