I am mildly confused here... I read somewhere that if I get the catback and then the 60626 borla cat delete pipes then I won't have to cut anything? Doesn't the catback already come with the borla x pipe already??

Yes it does. I'm not sure how the cat delete pipes work so can't speak as to how it would bolt together. I know the X Pipe that comes with their "cat backs" don't go far enough to scrap the secondary cats so requires you to cut just behind them and clamp. I'm guessing the cat delete pipes you speak of are designed to go between the short X pipe and the primary cats to ditch the secondaries in which case sounds like the way to go.

The clamp has a little tab that is welded to both the clamp and the primary cat so you have to cut it or twist it til it breaks. The 60606 and I'm assuming any other Borla setup will come with a new clamp for the area and it will work perfectly. If you were to ever reset to stock, you would need a new drivers side clamp and possibly a dot of a weld if you want it to be JUST like stock. Don't try to re-use the factory clamp after cutting it, it will leak. Also don't try to use it with the Borla X Pipes, it will leak. A leak is how you get a CEL. Any tech, mechanic, or exhaust shop will breeze through the install and so could you, just take your time and follow the very in depth instructions if you need them.

[QUOTE=devnull;10240770]Incorrect. No leaks, no CEL...
It's not about leaks, the ZL1 like nearly all new cars has 2 oxygen sensors. 1 before the first CAT, and one after it. Now, I believe that for the 2 sensors to read correctly the exhaust pressure must be controlled. And this control is done by the second CAT. Despite that I don't see the use for the second CAT especially that it's not monitored by the ECU. And as I heard the the ECU will sense the 2 CAT removal or blockage. It's just my theory, Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk |

Just update
I gone through the spare parts for exhaust, and it seems that the second one is just an empty box. ![]() Sent from my SM-T825 using Tapatalk |
