Stock ss tires short life span?

Hey guys, my car just passed 7200 miles and I checked my tread wear today. The inside of my rear tires are 2 1/2 mm while the outside is 3 1/2 mm. Is this normal wear for the tire, 1mm difference? I normally have it filled to 38 psi when hot. I was thinking maybe I smoked the tires too much trying to launch it so I checked my front tires. They are 4mm all around, I thought I remember reading people getting 10k plus out of them. Is it possible the roads are just that bad where I live?

38 hot is a bit much, should be setting to 32 cold. Also are you on a square setup or staggered? If square I'd rotate them a lot more but then it's pretty typical in this type of car with these kinds (summer) of tires that that they're not going to last long at all.

I have 20,000 miles on mine and they are still above the wear bars. Miles are mostly highway driving. Maybe have your alignment checked to see if the tires are wearing faster due to an alignment issue. It only takes a few minutes to check alignment these days. They just pull you into the service writer's lane, attach a device to the wheels, and roll it a few feet at the local dealership. They will print out the readings while you wait.

I'm staggered, I always wondered about my tire pressure. My cold is 88 degrees as summer is here lol, been 110 plus for a few weeks now. I'm glad I'm not the only one. How are the roads out there for you mark? I don't know how some people get that as I know you aren't the only one.

The air temp has no factor...cold as in it's sat overnight "cold".

Spec is 32psi cold. Check your door jamb. Otherwise staggered you can't rotate them so that's all you got. Would concur with the alignment check, usually a check on that would be free, and $80 to align it if it needs it.

Spec is 35PSI cold. You are correct. I find that a bit too much, as they are mostly driven in warm weather and obviously heat up when driven on as well. I fill them to 33PSI cold, that way they range from 33-37PSI while driving. That’s just where I like them. 👍🏻

I’ve got 16k on my tires, hoping to get 24k out of them, but I’m not sure I’m going to make it. Going forward my question will be on what to replace them with. I’ve already been looking at options on tirerack.com but my choices are limited due to the runflats.

still on my 1st set and i have about 20k on it. Granted I put snow tires on this winter that added up to about 5k miles so lets say 15k on the OE tires.

That said if i went to a dealer they would tell me i need new rears... the rears will need to be replaced probably this fall/spring.

what are good alternatives? Doesn't have to be run flat. But I need new set ASAP up front and i'm trying to be price conscious
