Sorry should have updated this thread. My tire was leaking air. Used fix a flat and it went away.
But then another sound came back but only when I was braking. I guess the axle needed lubrication? I can't remember what they said needed lubrication exactly. I'm pretty sure they said axle |

I have the exact same noise!
It is not a flat tire for sure. Did you happen to eventually find out the reason for this whining noise, which is not audible until listening carefully in very low speed all the way to a complete halt of the car. Never mind if in gear / out of gear, clutch pressed or depressed. I found that pressing the clutch and releasing a couple of times while the car is rolling slow, actually makes the noise go away for a bit, but engaging back into gear it comes back and then if I press the clutch again - (especially firm and full length press) - then the noise goes away again The sound in your vid - towards the end - rolling in low speed is exactly this! Would be great if someone with ideas / experience would chime in. I think this is somehow related to the clutch / clutch components ? Last edited by Eldi Z; 10-12-2018 at 05:07 PM. |

I know this is an old thread but, I think I hear this same sound on my car (23 SS 1LE). Not everytime I drive it but sometimes at slow speeds near home. Anyone figured this out over the years? Mine is not consistent enough to get a video. |
