NX Lid Install (will it void warranty)

As the title states... Just installed mine but wondered what the dealer would say if I had to have any warranty work performed.

Technically, no it shouldn't. But every dealer is different. If they do deny something, then you'll have to involve GM. As long as you're not spraying it with nitrous which I could EASILY see them freaking out about and rightfully so, nitrous is brutal on an engine not built for it.

If they freak out about catch cans they freak out about that cover.

I could easily see the dealer and GM denying warranty work. They will claim, and rightfully so, that any errors or issues that arise relate to the lid. Think about it: NX lid alters the flow of air into the SC which could alter power, which could impact the alternator, driveline, air conditioning compressor, all components connected to the engine. Any electrical gremline will be attributed to the lid; same for any drivetrain issue.

Of course you could get a reasonable service department who is realistic and understands some mods. But if you get a dealer that is tough, I bet GM will back them up.

Other than like a cat-back system / appearance stuff, I always assume the worst that modifications = loss of warranty coverage. I hope for the best after that.

I guess I can just swap it with the original prior to work if it comes to that since it does not cause any codes for them to find.

Has anyone done an install on the NX lid? I can't seem to find one, some pics but that is all. Did you use new gaskets or reuse the originals?
Thanks

Easy install, my 16 y/o did it in a few minutes. Reuse silicon seal.
My dealership was ok with the lid.
My install was in February with 40 miles on the odometer.
Lid will be for sale soon...doing a Weapon-X build with a Polished Whipple.

Thanks, I will try as soon as I get back from Alaska, off for week and a half. I picked up a black lid, looks awesome.

I dunno but I did my NX Lid last night along with a MAMO TB and the sound is very, very righteous! The throttle response is much smoother and better/quicker reacting as well, I like it!

It took me longer to unpackage the new lid than it took me to install the new one.

I just reused all three silicon gaskets as well as the nylon sleeves from the old lid.

The sound this lid makes is ridiculous.... I actually scare people driving down the highway with their window down... when I blow past, I watch them jump in the seat.

looking forward to the noise, right now, it's kind of quiet, and I really don't hear the sc whine at all, the exhaust is too damn quiet too......

The wine is actually louder than the exhaust by a far cry.

Best I could do at the moment...
