Road Course Wheels
My ZL1 1LE is about to hit 1500 miles, so it’s almost track time. I’m curious if anyone here has a square setup running 18x11 all around? I’m leaning towards those sizes with a Proxes RR in 305/35/18 all around since you can get a set in that size for about $1100 shipped. Curious to hear opinions on that size wheel/tire setup.

I think there is only one set of 18s that fit currently (clear the calipers).. Forgeline ... to go square they may run spacers in front to miss the shock/strut brackets. I'm sure any good wheel company can make something for 5k but as far as off the shelf I think the Forgeline or Forgestar are 3k.
19X10.5 tsw Bathhurst worked for me 27mm offset as a square 305s if you run any neg camber a 3mm space in front is needed. This will give ya a lot of choices for a street/autocross or roadcorse tire like the Bridgestone RE71s 305 30 19 Kumho ACR viper 720R 295 25 19 Proxes RR 295 30 19

18" should be no problem as many manufactures make 18" that clears the slightly larger C7 Z06/ZR1 carbon ceramics. Just don't use some Chinese cast turd and you should be fine. Forgestar, Forgeline and any of the expensive ones like BC Forged, HRE, etc. will all make wheels that clear.

I know this isn't really answering your question, but this car is so neutral and balanced from the factory I'd be really hesitant to go square. I understand the appeal, but some cars just work better staggered. You will also be hard-pressed to find a truly square set up that will work on the ZL1.

i second seanblurr, i actually bought replicas from MRR and had the daily driven tires mounted on those wheels, and kept the OEM wheels for the track tires.

My opinion is that you should run the stock wheel/tire at the track, and replenish tires with takeoffs from fellow forum members.

That said....if you want to go with 18's you can make that work. I just bought a set of BC Forged 18's from a fellow Forum member and I'm going to run 305/660/18 (on 18X10.5) Fronts and 325/660/18 (on 18X12) Rear. I'd echo the comments on the difficulty - and likely give up in performance - on trying to run a fully square set-up. Too much give up in contact patch out back to get something that fits up front (just my opinion). The 18X10.5s are really tight up front. Not sure you could fit an 11" unless you were ok with more offset and poke. I'm clearing the DSSV strut by 1/4". I'm switching from my prior two 19" sets (one with 315/30/19 and 325/30/19 Hoosiers - the other set with 305/690/19 Pirelli DH slicks on all four corners) as I LOVE the Pirellis but I want more contact patch out back and I'd prefer to avoid the 315/705/19 Pirelli's as they are a bit more than 1" taller than the OEM rear tires. Moving to the 18" set up gets me a staggered set-up that is much closer to OEM width and height. Let me know if you want more info on the 18" set-up. Won't see the track with it until 7/6-7/8 at RoadAmerica.
