2017 ZL1 Borla S Type Exhause

Just wanted to share my opinion on the Borla exhaust as I had it installed this afternoon I give the following high remarks

Ease of installation, Quality of product, fitment, appearance & most importantly drivability. NPP functionality is in place ++

I am a dealership employee & have heard every exhaust there is from MagnaFlow to Bassani. This hands-down is the best sounding exhaust for the Camaro model. The easiest way to explain the Borla exhaust note is that it makes the LT4 sound GT350 ish. Which as we all now is a good thing!!! I am very happy that I made the the Borla jump. The Exhaust was $1667 shipped through Colorado.

Wow NICE! Yeah I agree, I've had quite a few exhausts and the Borla stuff is far and away my favorite. I had the ATAK NPP system on my C7 with the gutted x-pipe and it was perfect. Will definitely look to do the same here.

Did you delete the secondary cats? When can we demand the sound clip? I'll do the same ATAK on the ZL1 most likely...

X pipe w/ Borla sounds phenomenal. Whatever happened to the true X-pipe design that had carry over collectors? I had a Bassani X-Pipe on my 2004 terminator and that was a true X-pipe.

Secondary cats are intact as I live in the great state of California. Will post up a sound clip shortly. Some have reported crackling with Borla attack & I have not experienced any of it with the S-Type.

During break-in the exhaust does smell bad though. I can smell it in my garage. Smells like mama June after hot yoga #deadpool

HAHAHA, yeah the Borla machining oil mixed with heat is a little stanky. I usually drive the crap out of it right away to heat it through, but there's no getting away from it (funny crap right there).

I had lot's of pops with the ATAK and 60547 pipe on the vette. It was perfect and the ONLY thing I miss about the C7 compared to the ZL1, but that will change very soon. THANKS for the link...

'04 Terminator eh? Wow. Still have it? One of my top 5 favorites, and best stang ever. EXCELLENT!

I miss my old cobra. traded in the terminator for a 2011 Shelby GT500. That was back in the day. Best sounding car I ever owned has been the boss 302.

Did you have catalytic converters on the Vette?

I'm another Cobra to ZL1 guy. I still am lucky enough to have the Cobra.

I miss your old cobra too lol...

On the C7 I removed the rear cats. It was quite a bit louder, then put the ATAK on and it was, well. LOUD!!!! (perfectly loud). Since it was NPP I could easily turn it down, but never ever EVER did.

Leaving a dealership after a failed attempt to buys a ZL1 (they weren't respectful of the value of the C7 LOL). Give an idea of the sound of the ATAK/60547 pipe

Question, did you get the ATAK or S-Type? The link is for the ATAK, but your other post seems to indicate you got the S-Type. Which is louder? And you said it maintains the NPP (which is nice), does that mean you can still control it through the MyLink interface? Or is there a separate controller you have to install in the car?

Hey Bud,

ATAK is louder, but S-Type is still very, VERY nice. Both will use your current NPP valves, and are adjustable just like the stock NPP (through MyLink). No separate controller needed!

We did an S-Type on my father in law's vette, and the ATAK on mine. Both were significant improvements!

Fortunately I am Internet and do not upset people like the floor staff. I have seen customers do donuts in the parking lot because they were so p/o.


Hopefully someone comes out with a true X pipe like they offer on Mustang. This is a true X-Pipe.

Haha, I can imagine you’ve seen some interesting things at a dealership! I wasn’t pissed, in fact I still talk with the sales guys there and stop in every so often. I always say to the sales folks that this is a business transaction. If it works for both of us, awesome! If not, we are still friends, no big deal.

The bridge rev has to happen because I am a child... LOL

I wanted to buy the Atak but it require cutting the OEM...

The sound is amazing. Second to the GT350R in my book.
