I paid Invoice via the GM Educator Program and also got the $1,000 regional incentive and $2,000 conquest incentive and my price came out to $8,000 under MSRP not including tax/tags so I'm not sure how another $4k more is doable? Noway is there that kind of margin built into these. Not calling BS here, but something does seem off with the math on that $12k off msrp deal.

There are stackable coupons the dealer can use if they want. They earn them for each sale over the initial allocation they get at the start of the month. I am an ex Gm dealer, so yes they can sell for less.

I hate Nissan right now. You talk about NOT budging a fkn dime. My Nissan dealership finally got back to me last week on a Track Package. Said, he can't get me a penny under sticker. As far as $12K off is concerned...there is more to the story for sure. However, at MSRP with no discount or rebate being throw in at all, these cars are well worth the price tag. From a performance aspect, there is nothing in this price range that can beat a ZL1 at anything stock for stock. And it is loaded up the ass with options. So I always tell people, if you get one at MSRP with nothing taken off the price, then you got a hell of a deal. Anything taken off is icing. I got $3K off the MSRP of my ZL1 and it was a deal and a half if you ask me.

OP, I'd say shop around. If you feel like you can get a better deal then keep looking. Give the dealership your contact info and tell them to hit you up if they wanna make a deal. Some of these dealerships have the attitude that if they give you a break, then they're gonna make you work for it. DOn't expect to just waltz in, ask a price, get that price, and then drive off. You might have to wait a while. Every day that the car sits is a specific amount of money the dealership is losing. So use that to your advantage. Let it sit. Check in periodically and see if they wanna play ball. At the worst, you'll get it at MSRP which is a hell of a deal.

As I have said before, I bought this car new, but it had 900 miles (warranty starts when I took delivery). I am the first owner and it has only been titled to me. That did play a role in it (not a huge one), but just to prove the point here is a snippet of the finance sheet showing the deal...

Bottom line:

$65k price after rebates plus their Select Market adjustment of $4k puts it at $61k. $73k and change sticker for the ZL1 1LE (with PDR and some extra small things) is a little over $12k off sticker...

A huge part of this is timing. Various times throughout the year yield better rebates, discounts, etc and they used them all to get down to this price. I highly doubt that this deal is easily achieved today (and I am quite fortunate to have made it that night).

You had a trade. Now it is making sense. Why would you black-out the trade-in allowance? I am assuming trade & rate is where it was made-up for the 7K+ discount. On a trade like that your tax credit is thousands.

Google is your friend. I got a decent deal, not as great as some here like to say they do, but I don't care because it was fairly close. It was a decent deal, I was not paying over MSRP but in fact thousands less than that. The dealers around me are in total denial, and think there are enough people who don't know how to use google, or maybe they don't know what google is... Bottom line, see what the best deals are on Google and use it as a starting point, and that starting point changes some month to month. Good info here as well.

Uhh, trade had nothing to do with it. I blacked it because the bank information was on it. They gave me $39k for my 2014 C7 vette with 37k miles (and sold it for $41ish. Good for them!).

Tax is not counted in how much off MSRP you get as different states have different rules. Always a MSRP vs Agreed price deal. $73k vs $61k. That's $12k bud.

No matter to me what you believe honestly. I got a heck of a deal, and showed you the non PII portion of the sheet. Sorry I negotiated better haha....

I spend a LOT of time looking at cars and deals. Many, MANY car deals were not worth it to me until I found the one I have. Some don't think that time is worth it, or just don't like doing it. For me it's almost a hobby.

I don't buy cars, I buy deals (my friends have heard me say that at nauseam haha)

As I said your tax credit is thousands from your trade. Do you know what a tax credit is?

It makes sense. In theory you received the discount. Essentially money was moved around. Yes you received a good deal. If you did not have a trade-in & were writing a check you would not have have got anywhere close to that. This is how misconceptions get started & customers start thinking they can get 12 K off a car.

No, the taxes get added after. Not part of that equation. It's ok bud, you don't have to have had the best deal. It happens. Sure, I paid less tax as a result of the trade offset, but it would still be 61k vs 73 (then more tax to eat the middle). I'm happy here haha.

Even by your math I'm over $10k...
