I drive the zl1-1le at least once a week as a toy, to and from car meets, and the occasional pleasure drive. Its great on the street, however I wouldn't want it to be my daily driver. If its just a car that's used for recreational purposes you'll love it! And if you ever decide to race it you will have 0 regrets.

to me the standard zl1 was lethargic ( i have a 15 z06 z07 pkg car I was comparing it to) unless in track mode and i was getting a manual in either car so I opted for the zl1 1le as buying a standard zl1 and driving it in track mode at all time and still not have the best handling capabilities did not make sense for me. Now my 71 yr old father he likes a plush ride and doesn't push the car in corners so the standard zl1 is perfect in tour mode for him.

I traded a lowered 16 base mustang GT performance pack that was suoercharged, for my 18 zl1 1le. The 1le is smoother, more comfortable, better tech, better handling, better looking. The mustang was faster, but got horrible traction, and was sketchy feeling at high speeds especially in the curves.
The ride is firm but feels good, like a race car with a good suspension. If you hit a pothole you will definitely know it. The manual transmission is also smooth with an easy clutch, so much better than the mustang. I definitely would not want to daily my old mustang because of all the mods I did, but I feel like if I needed to I could daily the ZL1 1LE. I have not tracked it yet, and I mostly drive on the weekends and a couple of evenings.
I feel like the ZL1 1LE is just about perfect The way it is, the stereo could be louder, and sound better, but the rest of the tech is great. Better paint protection is needed, and if your not tracking the car regularly, then some better street tires and brake pads that put out less dust would be a good addition. Also if you don't like talking about your car a lot and don't want random people taking pictures then do not buy the ,ZL1 1LE ☺

Couldn’t help noticing, you wrote your Mustang was faster? I’m assuming it was modded?

No issues daily driving, but you WILL definitely want to get more daily friendly tire ( such as Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ). Stock tires have VERY stiff sidewall leading to quite jarring ride. It's not to say with PS4S its a Camry, but its much more tolerable long term.

Roughly 4 weeks in, nearing 1200 miles, one oil change and 1 autox tossed in for good measure.

Brakes are dusty, but work phenomenally well. Sound management -- track mode all the time. Even then its quiet at highway cruising speeds, probably from dropping into eco mode, ie cylinder deactivation.

You are all man & bigger man than me. After 1100 miles I had to ditch the 1LE.

Thanks, all opinions welcome!
I daily drive mine and so far have more than 13K miles on it.

How fast do you drive?
Yes a low fun speed - it can be annoying.
At a fun speed - it is JUST FUN the more the better.

If your unsure - better try it out first.
If you haven't been inside a 6th GEN it is smaller than the 5th.

I have a 1LE and I do drive it on the street regularly (about 5 to 6 times a week), however it is not my DD (I have an old X5 and Odyssey for that - don't have to worry about rain, dings, spills, getting kids in the back, parking, getting pulled over et.) The ride quality is stiff, but not too stiff, but is appropriate for a sports car that can do serious track work and is very similar to other cars that are track cars in disguise. If this is not your DD, I would recommend getting it. If it is your DD then get the ZL1.
