So basically, a GT350 is probably not going to beat a regular SS M6 at the track with great drivers in each seat. Whats its excuse? I didn't see much if any bogging on those launches and the guy was shifting like a beast. And all he managed to squeeze out was a 12.0 flat. That car should be in the 11s, easy.


We know the bog on launch is what's holding back the Zl1, but not all drivers bog like crazy on launch:





A good launch and it will rape the GT350, no question. Unfortunately, we don't get to see time in this video and it is indeed hard to find videos of Zl1 manuals at the track.

Want to add that I'm not sure if he's modded or not, just wanted to show good launches are possible.

You’ve provide nothing to back up your statement (below). The ZL1 in any form will hand the Shelby it’s ass. Equal driver on same day (like the Motor Trend H2H you dismissed) I’ll take that bet any day.

Um... I'll never defend a Mustang but that ZL1 doesn't look even close to stock lol.

When MT asked their handling guru Kim Reynolds what he thought about the two cars after lapping them, he looked first to the Camaro then disparagingly glanced at the Mustang and said, “There’s about 4,000 years of evolution separating the two.”

It felt like I scoured the earth to get this but:



11.2 seems a little too good for a stock Zl1 m6, but he didn't claim he was. Don't know much about the tires. There was hardly any bog at all. The guy obviously knows how to keep it under control.

First of all, I like Mustangs almost as much as I like Camaros, so I try not to jump on the bandwagon to diss them, but that line....THAT line is both hilarious and true.
