Jerky Downshifts in Manual Mode

Does anyone else experience jerky downshifts in manual mode with the A10? I have only had the car for about 500 miles but when I first got it I only had the jerky 3-4 4-3 shift we all know about but yesterday driving I noticed some jerky downshifts in other gears. I was in track mode and PTM sport 1 driving yesterday. Maybe I need to reset the TCM or something? Anyone know how to do that? My car only has 3K miles. Thanks

yes all A10s have the same problem, hoping GM makes a software upgrade soon

It's not really a problem, the 3-4-3 might be. Every torque converter automatic sucks when downshifting manually. The A10 is BY FAR the best torque converter auto I've ever driven when it comes to anything but especially downshifts from the paddles and paddle response. It's actually very smooth 80%+ of the time. But there's just some awkward speeds/RPMs for it and it jerks more than I'd like. I guess you could state how jerky the downshifts are? Because for me, it's not that severe when it does jerk, just not as perfect as the other shifts are so you notice it a lot more. But it's not like downshifting a manual and not rev-matching jerky is it?

By the way, a vast majority of the time, my 3-4 4-3 is just fine too. The automatic downshifts when you get the algorithms going are nasty too. I know they're not as useful unless you're on a track but after you get the algorithms pissed off (lol) they really start going ham.

I think we all feel the 4-3 downshift is the worst one out of the nine downshifts. At least they happen quick!

How you avoid the jerky shifts is to upshift above ~3K and downshift at ~2K - been doing this for a while now and the shifts are smooth as silk, Including the dreaded 3-4-3.

Also, I don't downshift below 3 manually when coming to a stop. Let the car do those on its own.

I just did some driving and I noticed if I skip the 4-3 shift and double click it fast it will do 5-3 pretty fast and smooth. I will test your methods tonight. Thanks

There are "work-arounds" to the 4-3 jerk shift; it just sucks that you have to use some special method to make the shift not feel like you just did something wrong. When I have a passenger, I usually just leave the car in auto mode to avoid having to do the 4-3 shift. Nevertheless, another "work-around" I have found is similar to Collinms' suggestion: downshift quickly from 5-4-3-2. If you do that, then the shifts are smooth.

When fully warmed up my car normally does not do it. I do have the latest transmission & Firmware. Unfortunately my ZL1 received a new transmission @ the #300 odometer mark.

Track mode? I think the shift quality would be dependent on the RPM when you downshift. What RPM is this occurring at? Is it the same as 3000 versus 5000?

Yes track mode and warned up. How do I know if I have the latest firmware?

I must admit that I didn't realize how long it takes to get temperature on the transmission even in 90 degree weather. I did some longer driving today and allot of the jerking does go away as the temperature goes up. I had no idea it took so long to fully warm it up.
