dealer grade diagnostic tool

Hi there, I have bought a wrecked camaro 2ss and in my country there is no more chevrolet dealer, so I've gotta fix it myself. I need to replace airbags and I need a powerful scan tool that can get into all modules on the car. Do you have any recommandation?

You may be able rent or find someone with the top of the line Snap on or MAC tools scanner to reset the codes in the BCM, ABS, TCM and ECM but if you are having a communication problem between the computers that is a dealer only repair. If they aren't communicating you may be able to find another car that the computers are communicating and installing them instead but that comes with it's own hurtles. Just my thoughts.

I use an Autel MaxiCOM MX808 and it will give you access to all the modules. I believe the European and Asian market version is the MaxiCOM MK808.

Highly recommend.

Amazon has them but they aren't the cheapest place. Most places sell for about $450. I gave just under $400 USD shipped from a local vendor. Don't know where to buy used.

Good luck.

What do you think about this one? https://www.auteltech.com/Code%20Rea...ners/361.jhtml it says it can also scan abs and srs modules. It would be better suited for my actual financial situation :(

It depends on what exactly you want in terms of features. If you are only concerned with airbags, I think this one will work fine for you. I am not super familiar with the AutoLink series of their product line. However, their is no indication that the AL619 supports all 10 OBD2 Service Diagnosis test modes. If My personal opinion is to try to get one that will run all 10 modes. If you want to stay in the AutoLink product line, you could consider the AL629. I believe that one does support the 10 test modes.

One other note to make and that is that I don't think the AutoLink products support IMMO (reprogramming keys), SAS (reset steering angle sensor), TPMS relearn, Battery registration and reset, etc. If these are not feature that you are wanting or needing then I think the right AutoLink product will work fine for you.

Good luck.
