Complaining that 5th gen accessories don’t fit the 6th gen is NOT conversation worthy. It’s stupid. |

6th gen = Alpha chassis ZERO common parts. Hell there were ZERO common parts when they moved from the first gen to second gen in ‘70. 2nd to 3rd in ‘82. 3rd to 4th in ‘93. Anyone know of ANY car that shared major body/chassis parts when simply redesigned, let alone moving to a completely different chassis? |

Oh man, a 1969 camaro bumper wont fit a 1970 camaro, crap! They totally screwed me over...
Seriously!? Did you not know that a 5th gen is totally different than a 6th? Why do you feel GM who radically improved the car, screwed you over? Because they didnt consider that your mods should be interchangeable and now you have to spend more $$ to buy mods for a 6th gen? You should have researched a bit before getting buyers remorse. As for the windshield, how about a test drive first to see if you like the 6th gen before buying? It is laughable that you actually tried to cram 5th gen mirror covers into a 6th gen. Yup, they changed everything on a completely new generation. Do you think the Ford guys were shocked that 5th gen mustang parts dont fit 6th gen mustangs? Sell your mods and buy some new ones. In the meantime, enjoy the 6th gen and be grateful for the GM engineers for building such an awesome, highly improved Camaro. I'm sorry, but this thread is one of the dumbest I've seen. Makes me think troll! Its that bad.

I understand why you guys are taken aback by such a question, but the overall lack of empathy in this thread is also mind-boggling.
The OP, who is not a novice btw with over 300 posts, simply expressed a frustration, legit or not, and even if the answer is arguably obvious, even if he might not know how "these things work", why be so utterly snarky with him? I mean, the underlying assumption isn't even stupid, it may be unrealistic, but couldn't we entertain his idea for a minute and come back with a rebuttal that has some reasonable substance?

Don't be so harsh. Anything can fit with a dremel and angle grinder.

The lack of empathy is from the sense that Chevy some how screwed him. He has not been screwed. Maybe if there was a smarter choice of words, maybe his frustration would not been met with the response he got. Or else I should start saying Chevy screwed me because I have the 8 speed auto while the 2019's get the 10 speed. |

The 5th gen Zeta Camaro shared components with the old Pontiac G8 and Australian Holden Caprice since that’s the platform they used (which was outdated in 2010 hence the fact navigation wasn’t available until 2012 and HVAC was only single zone manual). But across the platforms they do not share anything. Not even a solenoid or a sensor. 100% different wiring harnesses, ECMs, everything. I’m sure the guys who own a ‘69 SS 427 that’s worth $250,000 feel screwed that a 2018 Camaro V6 for $35,000 has about the same performance. |
