Nice choice. Looks great! Enjoy the ride.

I followed the manufacturer's recommendations on fluid changes, but did my first one a bit early. But that's just me. Opinions will vary for sure. Brake in with varied engine speeds and not reving high was most important to me. Hasn't ever failed me.

I am nearing the end of my extended OnStar and so far the only thing I use regularly is the remote start. It gets really HOT here in Phoenix and getting in the car with the AC already on and cooling is great. I also decided when I was car shopping that cooled/ventilated seats was a must.

Dang, just checked and to retain the remote start option is the $35 per month plan. Decisions, descisions.....

Ummm...2016 does not have remote start on the key fob. Was that an option later?

Anyway, Onstar said since my car is a 2016 I can get the legacy plan that is
$20 per month.

If it’s an auto it most certainly does have remote start, I use it everyday

Even if it did, how close would you have to be? AC would only just start cooling when you get in.

When I am leaving work, as soon as I hit the lobby I remote start and by the time I get to the car a couple minutes later it's cooling off nicely.

What can I say, it gets HOT here in Phoenix, already having 100+ degree days and will get close to 120 for some of July and August.

Awesome, congratulations on your new ride.

Regarding OnStar, it depends on each individual on how you use your car. I go on a lot of long trips so sometimes have to park in not so safe places. I even got stuck in terrible weather at night once so could Not even see the exits. I just had to call onstar and they not only booked a hotel for me but also navigated me to that place. And as someone else also mentioned, you get insurance discounts based on the smart driver option so explore that as well. Again, it depends on the individual based on their usage.

So, went home for lunch and found the fob I got with the car (used from a Cadillac dealer) does not have an engine start button. Since I had 2 fobs for the car I traded in, the dealer paid for a second one. It was ordered based on the VIN and I discovered, does have an engine start button.

Over the course of about 2 hours I pressed the engine start 30-40 times and it only worked twice?? Lock/unlock works every time. Guess I'll have to have the dealer check it when it goes in Monday for intermittent AC not working.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread....

After starting twice with the key Fob, it requires you to actually get in and use the key in the car. That's standard GM operation and in the owners manual .

Might be because the rubber on the inside is wearing out for the remote start. My last car 1st one I had with a remote when you open it to replace the battery you’ll notice a rubber thing under the button you push when it gets wore out from using it , it doesn’t hit the connection for it to work .
Then the dealer replaced the key fob.

It was the new fob. The engine start did not work the first time till I had pressed it ~ 5 times.

Enjoy!

I'm closing in on 70 and have had a mess of cars these past years since 1966 when I started driving. My Camaro puts a smile on my face EVERY time I drive it.
Am closing in on 68 and have also been driving since 1966, I have the same reaction every time I drive my SS, my last sports car was a 08 Vette and am so much more impressed by the engineering/handling/acceleration of the Camero (as you would expect after 10 years of auto evolution).

And Frank237 - your new SS is beautiful, didn't know a different spoiler was an option but it looks great.

Nine- 1500 to 2000 miles on the oil. Rear Diff, I am still on the OEM factory fill. Likely to change when recommended. The rear diff is great only an inital moan at the first turn....
