Hooker Blackheart axleback installed.

Finally got my axleback, non npp. Install was straight forward and easy on ramps, hand tools and pipe cutting chain.
Exhaust sounds good on the outside and the inside above 2300rpm. From about 1400-2300 the drone is pretty bad, especially under load. The peak drone area is around 1700-1800 and now I’m looking at j-pipes to reduce the drone.
Anyone here have luck with j-pipes on there aftermarket exhaust?

Sorry to hear that. Heard good thing about their NPP version.
Maybe all that extra piping prevents drone.
That RPM where the drone happens is exactly where City/Town driving happens.
I bet it drives you batty.

HERE is a related thread

Thanks for the link. I’m going to get some quotes from muffler shops do 26” j pipes. You can’t even hear the exhaust rumble over the drone.

Got a few quotes from local exhaust places in north Seattle are and they all want around $250! For that much I might buy the piping and weld it myself. Most places have not heard of j pipes or said they don’t work

I have the Dual Transverse Catback and yeah there is drone, but it is nothing I can't put up with considering how good the system sounds. Once I get my Hooker Headers though I will be getting some J-pipes fabricated lol. I have been quoted $200 here locally in Tampa, FL by multiple places. Like you, most places don't know what I am talking about so the few I have found charge for their knowledge on them basically.

I have had a bunch of cars in the past with aftermarket exhausts, no cats and one with headers. None had drone at this level. Sounds like when you blow over the top of a bottle. I’m going to fab up some j pipes at work.

It has been about a month now and the drone has come down a decent amount but is still a very annoying hum like when you blow over the top of a coke bottle.
I took the muffler section off so I can try and weld up the j pipes in the next week at work so now I'm driving around with dumps pretty much. The dumps actually drone LESS than the hooker setup! So now I'm really looking at going with MBRP.
