Gen5 diy heated steering wheel problem

Alright so I bought a zl1 wheel for my SS and went to instal it. Got everything done and went to start my car after reconnecting the battery. Car acted like it wanted to turn over but didn’t on the first try. So I waited a second and tried again. I noticed that in my dash where the battery voltage gauge usually is I got a boost gauge from a zl1. Weird. Car started but for some reason the heated option didn’t work on the wheel so I shut the car off and went to disconnect the battery again. Waited for it to drain and then checked all the wiring. Everything looks good. So I reconnected the battery and now my car won’t start at all. Says no key detected. I tried putting it into the center cup holder number 2 and still nothing. Currently trying to reprogram my key. If anyone has any idea please help.

The wiring/connectors on the ZL1 wheel were the same as on your SS wheel? So just plug and play?

This sucks man. Probably something simple. I installed a Hot Wheels wheel in my 50th car, works perfect. I would disconnect negative terminal...press brake pedal for at least 30 seconds...then try again.

That is strange, mine went off without a hitch.

The boost gauge appearing for a while I believe is normal with a long battery disconnect...it’ll eventually figure out what’s going on and return to normal.

You tapped into the correct wire for the BCM and did plug back in the BCM plug, right?

Good to know the boost gauge thing is normal. Yeah it was the white bcm plug and the white wire. Does anyone know what that white wire exactly is?

Not exactly plug and play. They included a new clock spring and I had to take the old actuator off the old clock spring and move it to the new one. Also had to tap into a wire in the bcm

Ok so I got the car to start after reprogramming my key which is cool and all lol. Now however the console says service theft deterent system. And after driving for a minute the service stabilitrack warning came on as well.

That is way too much trouble to install a wheel. Did you see Lethals video? He installed the ZL1 wheel, all plug n play.
