The stock ZL1 exhaust is loud to everyone but those inside the cabin. Any louder and you’re just seeking attention. Lol.

With just owning a ZL1 we are seeking attention. This car is an attention magnet even at Atco. A little more can't hurt.

That's what GT350 fan boys say, that's why they like the GT350 better only because it "sounds" better, not that it performs better.

Statements like that sounds like high school boys.

That's certainly a way to get your exhaust louder, but it's a different path than a typical axle back/cat-back system.

I personally would recommend a cat-back change. Have you seen how ugly, big, and heavy the factory Cat-back is on these cars? I dropped mine off in one piece and replaced it with a Borla 60606 X Pipe and Corsa Xtreme axle-back and the sound is to die for. MUCH louder on start up and wide open throttle, ear splitting in the tunnels/next to concrete structures, but calms down and cruises nice and quiet. But as soon as you drop a gear, it screams.

I started my C7 Z06 and ZL1 back to back when both were stock, the ZL1 is loud and is a bit sharper on initial start up, but the C7 Z06 is just a bit louder on startup and stays louder once idling. By the way, the fuse pull is really a dumb idea on these 5 mode NPP systems. You might as well put it in track mode and at least be able to show your buddy how you can change the exhaust 5 different ways.
I went to Youtube and Phastek. It looks good. Also, they lifted the car at the same places the Chevy dealer lifted mine.

Did you put your own on?

You can't be serious. The stock exhaust after the cold start cycle is extremely quiet even in track mode which is the only mode mine ever saw. Once you're cruising you can't hear anything. And when I would hammer it, all I heard was blower and engine sound, no exhaust really that I can recall. Pulling into a car meet or similar and you couldn't hear anything. Sure wide open throttle, if you were standing outside the car it's loud. But so is my 6.2 pickup.

I didn't want to butcher the stock exhaust and I didn't want it to be too loud. My setup is perfect for me. I can reset to stock without any harm done, it's loud enough for me, gets a few more looks, and sounds great when just playing around. Headers + No cats + Stock NPP would be louder, and I doubt I could handle that in track mode 100% of the time. Headers into Corsa? You'd be deaf on cold start.

I don't think it's "silly" to put a cat-back on this car. If you like yours stock, then don't touch it. But no need to tell other people they shouldn't touch theirs either.

The ZL1 sound is way to quiet. I had a 2013 CTS-V with Corsa axelbacks and it was about twice a loud as this car. The only time my ZL1 sound loud to me is at startup for about 6 seconds, then a WOT. Otherwise its as quiet as my wife's SUV.

Get a GT Haus catback and you can fix the hell out of that "quiet" issue.

I 100% agree with this. My 2012 CTS-V with just a Billy Boat catback was much louder than my ZL1.

It seems like you're the only one they want to have one for the ZL1. Their website still shows available for pre order.
