Pretty much lol

But they are begging for the kind of pounding like was put on the 15-17 gt. Slightly faster just wont cut it.

One thing for certain is the ZL1 will soon be in 3rd place again in street/strip performance unless they step up their game.
I doubt they go for the 1LE, that is just beyond Ford at this point...because their 400k GT barely beat that...

As for the street/strip, I do expect Ford to go hard on that because that's all they have right now. Chevy could easily combat this by actually releasing the drag pak kit they've been teasing us with and bam...the ZL1 is already in the upper 9's/lower 10's while still retaining a factory warranty...

Car and driver 12.3@118 m6 ss vs 12.6@115 m6 gt. If you want to compare different days.

Not really saying the SS is faster. If you get a gt a10 with drag mode I think it may be faster stock for stock. It’s just not by as much as you think. I’m nearly as fast as steeda shop built a10 gt with more mods than me and race fuel. Keep arguing tenths in stock cars if it makes you feel better. You will still be far from immune to a Camaro at the strip. They are close competitors
If you get a GT* it may be faster than any SS.

Every GT will be a GT* in the bench race.

* GT, A10, PP, Michelin PS, 3.55 in drag race mode

Funny how none of the Mustang guys noticed that the M6 2018 was 3 tenths slower than the M6 SS.

I don't think anybody really cares what the manual versions run anymore. Autos have rendered them irrelevant when discussing straight line acceleration.

From what I'm seeing, the only real advantage the 2018 Mustangs seem to have is a slightly higher trap speed. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and admit they can dip into the 11s, but so does the SS. It's just that the SS has been doing it since late 2015.

M6 to m6, the SS seems to dominate, no questions.

Yeah sure, Ford brought the fight, but I can't say it's impressive. They've really only caught up. I see some on the 'other' site bragging about the fact that the Coyote matches the Lt1 with only 5 liters. True, but it needs to rev to 7500 rpms to do it. Some see that as an advantage, I don't, especially for daily driving. And I'm not even going to get deep into the gen 3s 'rattle of death':

That's just Ford and their crappy engineering. How many has to drop like flies before they admit there's a problem? And what about that mt82 which we all can agree is straight-up crap. They said it's the new 'improved' version, lol. I guess the improvement is that it grinds higher up in the RPM range.

Before worrying about who's the better performer, Ford should at least try to build a car that can survive a couple hard launches without the owner thinking it's going to break.

Anyone who uses the argument "the Mustang only needs 5 liters" is a complete idiot who has no idea how engines work in the first place.

I prefer manuals actually. A lot of us still do. And in 4 more months the SS will have the same 10 speed as the Mustang and that small advantage will be gone again.

I doubt you'll see any better 1/4 times between the 8 and 10 speed.. Not much difference. The upgrade to the 10 for the mustang was a needed upgrade. It's surely not going to add 5mph of trap speed to the Camaro either.

Well I wouldn't exactly look at it that way. The GT was a high 12 sec car. Adding the A10 and Drag Mode and the new PP1 along with the extra HP all helped to make it faster. The SS is only changing to the A10 from the A8. So it might do exactly what it did for the GT. We just won't know because the GT had like 10 thousand additional things changed to help it. Plus the SS is already starting out faster than the GT was and at this point it is a driver's race. Adding the A10 might be enough to make the SS more than a driver's race over the GT when both are tested side by side. The difference is that we'll se exactly what the A10 is good for in the SS whereas we'll have to speculate what it did for the GT.
