Bang for the buck mods that don't affect warranty.

I've had my car about a week. I always enjoy spending my free time surfing websites looking at aftermarket parts. I'm curious what everyone's take is on bang for the buck mods.

Seems like at $150 a ported TB would be start? What about having the secondary cats removed?

I'm going with a ported TB/intake combo to start. Pray has the set for something like $550 and it's good for 15-20 rwhp. Looks like CAI make a noticeable difference in these cars as well.

Catback Exhaust ( delete secondary cats ) / Ported TB / suspension / Tires / Brakes - that's about it...

if you add intake manifold you will need a tune.. anything more will void ( i think )

The ported IM does not require a tune. I have Prays combo. Runs just fine.

prays ported setup does not require a tune, nor does a rotofab cai, but the mods would be better optimized with one. my fuel trims were running +8% idle and part throttle after installing them. Still ran fine though.

Won't secondary cats delete void warranty?

No. They are not monitored by the ECM.

i was under the impression if you do exhaust with cat delete, intake and ported TB , you will need a tune to do intake manifold?

You will need a tune if you delete the front primary cats, but not the rears. You also will need a tune for the MSD intake manifold and a CAI intake but it's not required for a ported stock IM and Rotofab.

But they will notice they're missing.

It doesn't matter...removing them does not void the warranty. They were only put in place to meet CA's CARB. Plenty of threads covering this topic.

Actually, you do not need a tune for the MSD intake manifold, mine did not throw any codes or have any noticeable problems with the stock tune. Tuning is better of course, but the part can be installed without touching the ECM if desired.
