In FL, with a sunroof you'll have the shade closed 9 months out of the year because of the heat. I like them regardless, but changing the roofline, adding weight up top, and shortening the roof just didn't do it for me in this car. In an SUV or sedan, it's a must. Sports car = no, or convertible if anything.

Love mine! Crack it in the heat when the car is parked. Lets in extra light. Nice to be able to look up and see the sky when parked. Lets in some air while moving without having to open the windows as much.

Exactly this. My current CTS has a sunroof but I usually have the AC blasting so I don't open the roof that often.

I love the sunroof. I never open it as i love AC. I like to park and stare at the sky at night.

People dislike the sunroof because they imagine that somehow they'll push the car to the point where they'll notice that it has less rigidity, lol...but then they never take the car to the track. Just like how people prefer manuals because it's better on a track but then they never go there. And all the while there are cars that handle way better than a Camaro and they have a, (gasp), sunroof. For me, I hate feeling trapped in a solid top car. Sunroof is a must-have. No sunroof, no way.

Even if it’s not open, having the extra light come in is great.

I ordered my car without a sunroof. We got the wife's car for a great deal and it has the sunroof. I like it, and think it looks great when open from the outside.

Still, I wouldn't trade my reverse mohawk for it.

I got a manual only for the fun factor, I'll never be on a track.

8-Reasons not to get a sunroof

1- There is too much flex in the car under heavy load.

2- No protection from solid objects, ie: tree limbs, rocks, assholes throwing things from highway overpasses etc.

3- Less headroom, of which there isn't much to begin with.

4- Eventually they all leak or pond water in the frame then mold starts to set in.

5- Reduced cage strength in the case of a roll over [and thats a big deal].

6- Electric motor breaks and you're stuck in the open position. Get out the cardboard and duct tape.

7- Sunlight bleaches the interior reducing the life of the leather [assuming you have a 2SS]

8- You are going to pay extra money to weaken the roof have a piece of your car cut out? Really?

Love my sun roof. When I come out of work at the end of the day and the inside of the car is hot from being in the sun, I open the sun roof and the windows and in just a short distance, the interior air has all been exchanged and cooled. I love the light and the air flow. I can slide the inner cover as needed if the sun is at a bad angle.

As for the reverse mohawk, to each his own, but...

Personally, I think the extra 1700$ CAD for the sunroof is not worth it. I do like to open it during summer, I do like the extra light that shines through it, bu eventually, the seals will dry and won't seal anymore and you'll be stuck with wind noises. That's what I have on my tib and unless the roof is opened, I have to close the shade.

So I ordered mine without the roof and I'll be happy with it.

Regular sunroofs seem so half-a$$ed... go big or go home!

I love my sunroof!

9- Don't forget to look out for those black helicopters.

10- Also, cut all the wires to the OnStar module

Based on these observations I'm crawling under my bed and never going out of the house again.

But to answer OP's question, I had a 2010 SS no sunroof, 2013 ZL1 vert, now a 2017 ZL1 with sunroof. Of all of them , I prefer the sunroof.
