Finished one for the kids.
![]() ![]() ![]() Learned that it's hard not to get another color/layer not to smear when what you are painting is so tiny. Going to try again, but this one is decent, but I think it's best to just use a sharpie intead of paint if anyone else is going to try.

Installed the OEM molded splash guards, front and rear. Got them from Shopchevyparts.com for $93.75 each pair - $200 for all 4 including shipping. I bought the 2SS on Mar 17 and ordered the Summit White splash guards right away, but they were on backorder until I received them last week.
Really pleased with them! They do look somewhat "tacked on" but at the same time look like they were factory installed. What I like is the peace of mind that they will block some of the stones and tar that would have hit the rocker panels and rear fender otherwise. Not sure how much they will protect, but no doubt they're better than nothing. The install took a couple hours total, but I took my time. I started with the rear because they're a little simpler. The steps are:
The most difficult part is pulling the liner from the tape without ripping the liner. It's extremely thin, and on my first attempt the liner did rip almost immediately. The problem is that you can't really pull the guard away from the fender, so not only is the liner stuck to the tape, but it's also squeezed between the tape and the fender. What worked for me was removing the guard and then removing the liner from the tape, and then reapplying the liner very lightly to the tape, before lightly screwing the guard back in place. After that it was very easy to remove the tape liner with the guard in place. The front guards were a little more involved because there's an additional step of adding a bracket first, which the front guards are attached to. The guards are attached to the bracket by 3 supplied 3/32" rivets. I didn't even own a rivet tool, so I picked one up at Lowe's for $20, and used a rivet tool for the first time in my life. Super easy.Tools required:
Non-marring lug nut socket (also available at AutoZone): https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-2...SM4/ref=sr_1_2 Polyurethane slotted jack pad: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074267MN3...pa_dk_detail_3

Got a door ding repaired, drove around a little, and cleaned the lower door and rocker panels with bug & tar remover. Long day but worth the time and effort!

I cleaned some bugs too. These cars are bug magnets, my other cars don't get nearly as many bugs. I thought it might be the yellow but I've seen a lot of posts like yours lately.
