I'd rather use the cash to treat myself not the car.

I like nice chip free paint and power equally as much so I do both but the paint gets protected 1st before anything. I haven't even driven my car yet (I trailered enclosed to the ppf installer). Have a corsa axle back at the house in a box but won't put that on until I do everything and tune it once.

You mean Axle-Back? Or did you buy a Borla X pipe with it?

yeah sorry axle back. I may go the bola route you are doing until i get the arh setup but it will be a waste of 550. All depends on if I can stand the quiet stock exhaust til winter only time will tell lol. What did you end up paying for the bola and where did you get it?

If you don't like chips in the paint in the hood/front end, then I have found that not following to close to the car in front eliminates almost all of chips.

1) Borla ATAK catback

or

2) Paint correction, Xcel and ceramic coating

It's gonna be one or the other. Thanks

1. If you don't care about warranty TSP headers for 599.00 w Stock suite case

2. Elbow grease, clay bar, polish with orbital buffer, then a good wax less than 200

3. xpel or equivalent on nose, complete hood, and carbon insert 450 to 1000.00 ( one of the things you need to call around on to compare apples to apples as far as product used and labor) # 2 should lower price! I think the Cquartz is a waste you can do just as good just more often with waxing and other protectant sprays.

4. Just do Nose and front splitter w xpel get a lower deductible to 250.. that will pay repairs take chances on hood and CF

I love the Borla i'd do all three if you can afford it Corsa sounds bad ass to but no way to use the NPP since they don't have valves and if you did headers later man it be loud..

not always but does help.. I didn't have one problem with my 5th gen..

I have only had my 6 gen 6 months 3 weeks ago a big ass rock/dirt claud across hood wrap, CF insert(not to bad i think it buff out)..

Luckily I had PDR on I followed truck to his work showed him damage took pics of the truck with rocks and dirt on it and sent proof to there insurance company.. Nationwide came out gave a quote to repair small dent, paint hood, replace hood wrap, and replace carbon insert. just under 4k

a day later took a rock to the widow truck not even in front of me.. wish it happen before claim adjuster showed up..

Ceramic coating kind of concerns me, it's pretty new and from what I understand (could be wrong) but what happens when it inevitably starts to break down?
My understanding is it needs to be sanded off and reapplied.
Wax has been working well for many years, so my money, no coating

This is going to be so 50/50 regarding responses.

I did a paint correction with ceramic coating, and when we tried to do the paint correction, the paint flaked right off. and my guy is really good, so it wasn't his procedure, it was the CHEAP A$$ THIN CRAP GM CALLS PAINT. I have never seen such bad paint on a $60k car... but I digress

I also have a full catback. I did the catback first, but should have done the paint correction first. Also, I have xpel on the front bumper, which definitely helps with the rock chips. Hope this helps

For me, it’s more about keeping it looking nice while I own it. It means I can drive the piss out of it and not have to worry about it looking like crap in a year or two. Some people might not care about rock chips, but they bug the hell out of me.

The added bonus is that it’ll probably be easier to sell and/or be worth a few bucks more when the time comes. But that is not my reason for doing it.
