Exclamation Clay Bar Clouded car Lines

Hello all,

I need some advice on the following:

I am aware the Camaro's clear coat is fragile. That being said, I was claying the car for the first time. I immediately noticed that running the clay bar along the front bumper lines of the car (with no pressure) somehow clouded a small portion of the front bumpers lines. (i'm referring to the front bumper line that runs vertically right under the chevy emblem). Can someone explain how the heck this was even possible? Is there an easy fix? Or did I seriously just cloud the paint by running a clay bar with no pressure. The rest of the bodywork turned out beautifully. But for some reason, running over the lines with a clay bar seems to cloud the lines!!!

FYI: this was a brand new clay bar from Chemical Guys. I even used clay bar lube!

Any help or solutions is much appreciated!

Clay Marrs any car, that's the simple fact… Now the car needs to be polished before you can move on to the last step product.

Clay is an abrasive. Always follow with a dual action polisher and a quality polish.

If the rest of the car looks ok, I'd try some swirl remover by hand on the clouded areas before using a powered polisher. I normally go with the minimal approach towards removing defects in one area. You'd need to be careful using a buffer on any car line.

There's no danger in using a dual action polisher. Rotary buffers are not to be used on car lines.
