I'm getting ready to fill up when I leave work this afternoon. I've got a little over 450 miles on the tank on my SS A8. Probably somewhere around 25MPGs with 75% highway 25% City/country driving with a few WOT bursts on the tank.

Here's my fuel log so far on this car, only 2 fillups to date, but I'm very meticulous with my gas logs as you can see with my other cars on that site:

I get about 18 MPG with my '17 SS M6.
I get 18 to 19 with my Silverado 5.3 W/T (18 winter, 19 summer)
So my pickup truck gets better mileage than my Camaro.

When i purchased my car with ~6k miles, the lifetime mpg was an amazing, to me anyhow, 24mpg. The computer keeps up with this which is a really cool feature. A day or two after i took delivery of my car, i went on a 600 mile road trip and knocked down 27 mpg driving 75ish on the interstate. I can honestly say this car rivals my 4 cylinder mazda 6 commuter car mpg wise IF i keep my foot out of it. Spirited driving with e85 will definately put you in the low double digits though

You don't even think of a SS if you are completely all about MPG. That being said, today's technology is amazing. I do virtually no freeway driving and get about 22 MPG. I rarely get on it, but I do enjoy the fat torque curve.

Now going way back when I was 20, at the time I owned a 69 Mustang Cobra Jet with the 428. At that time, it was one of the bad boys in the muscle car scene. 4:11 deferential and was all about acceleration with the then current state of the art. I got 7 MPG and that car was great looking and fun, but front end heavy, couldn't handle corners well, had drum brakes. My 2SS would have stomped all over that car in every measurable way.

But I wish I still had that one looking at their values these days... :-)

Never grow up.

I got a v6 1lt (probably same as the v6 SS I suppose) I get 15.3 city so far .
The highway I wouldn’t even worry about I keep it on cruise control 36 + mpg.
Cruise control is the secret without it I get 5-6 mpg less at least on all my other cars I didn’t try it without it on my Camaro yet.

Daily driver 2SS with the V8 and an M6.
I routinely average 20.5 mpg in mixed driving. I don't baby it when accelerating, but I am always in 5th or 6th for cruising depending on speed and traffic.

sheesh I have a v6 and my driving is about the same as yours and I AVG. like 22-23... what am I doing wrong? lol

i have gotten 19.1 mpg over 24000 miles, the majority of which was at 80 mph on the highway. my 2014 ss got 17.7 in similar duty. however i can get it up to 24 mpg if i drive 65-70.

Ignore the people telling you to just buy a Honda. Use Fuelly to compare the models, do your research, and buy whatever you want.

I likely use more gas than anyone here.. and like someone said.. if the cost bothers you, get something else.

on the way home today - I averaged 14 mpg. windows down, roof open. didn't care.

1000 miles. 26.4 mpg, 90%highway driving back home from dealer.

200 miles in town. 22mpg.

I think 22mpg for mostly city driving is pretty good.

Driving 65 mph, instant mpg shows 30-32 approximately. But I tend to do 80 on highways

What would be the monthly cost if you had to round it.
Unfortunately this is incorrect. There are a few people claiming 30+ MPG in an SS and maybe this is accurate but it is.not the norm. The average is around 22 to 24 MPG in real world conditions. The V6 is capable of 30+ MPG average in similar conditions.

I have to differ here. I was able to get over 42 MPG All Highway using 87 Octane (which is between $0.50 and a whole dollar cheape per gallon than premium in the southeast)

I posted the image of that awhile back. If needed I will dig it up again but I'm posting from my phone right now.

My SS will get maybe 24 - 25 MPG all highway. Mixed I'm getting 21 - 23. All street is 18 and 19
