New ZL1-1LE Xpel and ceramic coated.

Just got the new ZL1LE back. Xpel on front clip, both front quarter panels, rockers and section in front of rear tire. Car fully coated with ceramic coating including wheels and calipers. Here are a few pictures and a the walk around video. Pictures don't do it justice. It literally looks like a mirror.

I am looking to do something similar. Can you give a ball park on what you spent? I'd like to get a feel before I start getting quotes from installers around my area.

What is the long term benefit of this process? Doe's it repel rock chips? What is the guarantee? Can't see alot from the pictures but it does appear to be quite glossy.

Xpel will ward off most rock chips. This is why it should be applied to the front facing areas/areas that might catch a rock (obviously you can still get unlucky and have it blow through the PPF (Paint protective film) or hit an area you didn't wrap).

Ceramic Coating is more like a long-term, semi-permenant wax. It has crazy gloss characteristics, lots of hydrophobic properties, and lasts for at least a year, most coatings go for 2-5 depending on brand, layers, etc. They are not as easy to swirl as paint but they're not swirl-proof. Probably not going to stop much/any scratches or physical contact with an object. But it makes the car look better and WAY easier to wash everything, contaminates just fall right off.

Long-term benefit: You could have a car with perfect paint even after thousands of miles and years of use.

CH2MHP pretty much summed it up. I forgot to add that I did full paint correction as well. It is extremely easy to wash the car and wheels now as nothing wants to stick to it including brake dust. I simply rinse with water and blow it dry and it looks fully detailed. Keep in mind you have to xpel first, as the PPF film will not stick to the car after you ceramic coat it. This one came with a 9 year guarantee, which seems excessive, only time will tell, but it is good peace of mind if you plan on keeping the car for a long time.

Wish I had done more research first. Had mine clear wrapped to the mirrors. Would have preferred this method...

PPF is not cheap.. I can tell you that its more expensive then vinyl and takes longer to apply properly. If your doing ceramic coating paint correction and PPF id say ceramic coating and paint correction on an entire care will range you 1200-1800 depending on the amount of paint correction.. PPF for quality PPF and job I would say 2k-2500 for the bumper fenders and hood.. Everyone charges differently so these numbers could be off for your area.

Thanks. I know that it is not inexpensive. I'm essentially just comparing quotes at this point.

I see it as an investment in my investment.
