I'm currently doing remote tune with pray and he has been great and never hesitates to answer questions. It's been a slow process but that's on me not him. My time is limited along with crappy weather. We are doing all the tuning street driving the car also it's a forced induction tune and that's makes things a littler harder.

Another vote for Pray. He's been great to work with and is always prompt. He and my buddy are going to do a remote tune on the dyno this Thursday that I'm really looking forward to. He's already got my car hauling ass with just the e85 tune and his ported IM/TB. We're adding Kooks and x-pipe and will be fine tuning it Thursday so I'll post some results.
Another strong endorsement for Pray Performance.

One is the canned email tune where you provide your basic mods and the tuner will give you a generic tune suitable for the mods you listed. For example something like basic bolt-ons that everyone does frequently, ported im/tb rotofab E85 exhaust, there's probably already a tune for that. Fine tuning may be needed since every motor is slightly different and it'll go back and forth via email with logs attached. A real remote tune is where you throw your car on a dyno and the tuner will be remoted into the laptop looking at the data logs and making adjustments as needed. They'll basically run the whole show right on your laptop and direct you and the dyno operator as needed. It's almost as if they're right there tuning the vehicle except you can't physically touch their face and body lol. Last edited by Spartan268; 04-28-2018 at 12:04 PM. |

You buy HPtuners, read ECM, save the file and email to tuner. Tuner then modifies the tune and sends a revised version back via email. Next you load the base tune that you will receive via Email, then take logs of the car driving under various loads and conditions. Save the log file and send to tuner and he will will make necessary changes. Rinse repeat until the tune is dialed. Normally with a stock/bolt-on car it won't take very many log sessions if any to get the tune right.

I would suggest not working with a tuner that locks any/every file they send you. |

I would say best way for a remote tune is to have you and the tuner download TeamViewer let him remote into your laptop and he can tune you in real time. I have done an email tune before and that can take a bit longer as not everyone checks their email non stop. Where as if the tuner makes the time he can spend a couple hours or so and get it done then and there. Also you wont have to pay a shop to use their dyno.

Where do you get a canned tune for 85? I have canned tunes right now but they’re just for gas

I've used Pray and Rynne Cunningham, both are excellent.
