Blackfire new Si02 spray sealant

Ordered a bottle, although it takes an eternity for Autogeek to get it from Florida—>Cali. It was priced at $37.99 for 32oz which is a significantly less expensive than carpro Reload. I assume it’s a similar product as it’s intended for dry application. I snagged it with an additional 15% off and free shipping.

Looking forward to trying it. I’ll post back up in here afterwards!

Interesting, I wonder if it's BF's answer to the Carpro Essence/Reload Si02 combo, let us know what you think, I may try it too. Do they have an Si02 polish to precede it? Looks like Autogeek has a new BF polish, but doen't specifically state si02. . .

Saw that on autogeek the other day with Phillips review… ...... Nope .....not doing it… IMO, All these SIO2 products are the same , I've got TAC systems SIO2 spray on the shelf, reload, and now McKees… I can't tell a damn bit of difference between any one of them. As someone said recently on one of the detailing sites, I fail to believe that anyone has a better chemists than the other major players.

Did you miss it’s half the price/oz as Reload? I hear ya if you’re overstocked already though.

Code was DRESSING15. Not sure if it’s still active.

DetailedImage.com has 4L of Gyeon Wet Coat for $90.

Blackfire SiO2 is $105 from Autogeek for the same amount.

Wait for a 25% off and free shipping. That is the best deal any of them offer.

Waiting would have saved me $3 additional dollars. I could afford to order now lol. A gallon of this stuff would last me 3 lifetimes. Wet coat needs to go on wet right? I’m not always in the mood to wash or wet down the car, and rinse off. Different type of product. Reload would be like for like.....not hydro2 for example.

Let us know the results...but like Glen said, think this will be a wash other than the price. I am sticking with Carpro stuff, I like it a lot, have tons of it in my cabinet, don't think there really is anything different out there right now and for quite some time.

“Other than the price”.

Sometimes I feel like people DIG to disagree online. In one sentence you state it’s performance will be equal. The next you say you’ll stick with Reload (Carpro equivalent). Then you brush off a 50% price difference like it isn’t meaningful.

My bad everyone! Surely the product will be terrible, and NOT be worth getting twice as much for the same price. Carry on!

Everyone seems to have brand loyalty to an extent, although there's always something "new and different" on the horizon. Since I'm near the bottom of the bottle of BF TPnS, I figure I'll give the new stuff a shot, if its cheaper AND better, I'm all for it, new isn't always better, but most of us like what we already bought. Feedback is always welcome on any product, good or bad, its how we learn.

I have nothing against this new Blackfire product. I was pretty much the one that started talking about blackfire here, with my process. I still use Crystal seal on my shower doors counters, and other cars. My point is that you should not run out and buy this if you have a si02 on the shelf. Too many people are looking for the next magic product, and this is not it. It will work fine, it's just another SIO2 spray. SI02 products are all the rage today, and everybody is running to get one to the market in their product line.

But hey, prove me wrong: If somebody buys this, and has any reload or any other SIO2 to spray left, do a side-by-side on your hood to prove the difference.

I hear ya and totally agree if you have a specific class of product already on the shelf. But if I was into car detailing (as I am), and a reputable brand (BF) launched a dry si02 spray for half the price as a popular competitor (Reload)......I would be interested if it’s minimally “as good”. Seems I’m the only one with that philosophy in this discussion.

Whenever a product makes a "big hit" in the detailing market, everyone and their brother make a version of it.

Coatings were originally done by Optimum. Opti-Coat was the first coating to hit the market. It was a complete pain in the @ss to use! Then they came out with Opti-Coat 2.0 which solved most of the application issues, shortly after Carpro came out with CQuartz, and now everyone makes a coating.

The Microfiber Madness Incredimitt came out about 6 years ago. It's long fibers pull dirt away from the surface, and it releases dirt in the rinse bucket better than any mitt ever had before.
It also lasts for a very long time. Now everyone has a copy of it.

The Rupes 21 and 15 Bigfoot came out about 5 years ago as well. Now everyone has a long throw polisher.

Carpro came out with Reload about 6 years ago, much like Opti-Coat, the original version was hard to apply/remove. It was reformulated several times, and once they got it right, everyone now has their version.

I don't have anything against Blackfire, I used their Wet Diamond Paint Sealant (polymer) and it was very good.

Is their new silica sealant as good as Reload? I don't know. They don't state what the silica % is....Reload is 5%......They don't state durability.... Reload is 6 months.

I have learned this about using silica protection. During pre-foaming/rinsing... before I used Carpro Reset, when I did the pre-foam and rinse steps........ some times my car wouldn't sheet water properly, so I'd put additional protection on after washing/drying.

I was surprised at this, because I know I prepped the car properly before applying it initially, and after a few months it seemed as if it was gone.

So I tried the Reset shampoo (pre-foam only) on the next wash without putting any more protection on...... All the sheeting and water beading came right back.

No other shampoo I've tried (I've tried at least 40 different ones) did this.

After a year of use I also found it significantly reduced light wash marring as well. My rinse bucket hardly had any dirt in it at all, even when the car was really dirty after being driven in the rain for several days in a row.

If you want to try the Blackfire that's your choice. Instead I would recommend the Reset shampoo, as it designed specifically for coatings and SIO2 sealants, to bring them back to their original hydrophobic state.

Another SI02 product I really like is Carpro Hydrofoam. I'm going to wash my car weekly anyway, so once every 3 months I use it as a topper for the Reload. Wash, rinse, pool rinse, dry the little water left on the car, done.

No additional steps needed.
