Per corvette forum the gm threadlocker is permatex 27200. This is high temp high strength red. Thought I would mention since it was suggested several times in this thread to use blue.

My 2018 ZL1 with ~2400 miles started experiencing this issue. Have never tracked the car, but I use it as a daily.
I had them apply PIC6276 (tighten endlinks) while I was waiting for the parts for PIC6276B (replace endlinks). No further issues so far.

If the inner tie rod is loose, you could tighten it but it would be better to have an alignment done to bring everything into spec. |

If the toe is adjusted it needs to be reset for sure. Normal dealer alignment procedure is to "set the toe and go" Also, if this isn't the issue, why is his steering wheel not centered sometimes? What's your diagnoses and repair? Steering Angle Sensor Centering The steering angle sensor does not require a centering often. Centering of the steering angle sensor might be required after certain service procedures are performed. Some of these procedures are as follows: • Wheel alignment • Steering gear replacement • Steering column replacement • Steering angle sensor replacement • Collision or other physical damage • Electronic brake control module replacement k

Depending on our work load, some days my setup and alignment equipment are deployed trackside. On those days we use the alignment rack at our local GM Chevy Dealer. To be clear we work with their best Tech, a super guy, or do it with my guys. In three years. We have reset one sensor because it was bad. Over the last 14 years a handful. Why does his steering wheel change, something is loose, worn or broken. FYI #1 The Steering Angle Sensor has no mechanical influence on the position of the steering wheel. FYI #2 If the sensor is out of range, it puts the car in reduced power mode. |

Oh I've taken it to the dealership plenty of times. Finally I gave up and put aftermarket endlinks and nordlock washers on. Clunk still came back for a while. I haven't heard it recently though. That's why I was wondering if it was the part he mentioned... Since I've done the fix and still have intermittent issues.

If Childs Play gets a scanner, he could do the reset himself, easily. #2 As long as the fault lasts long enough. ------------------------------------------------ The steering angle sensor centering procedure can be preformed with a scan tool in the automated center procedure by the following: 1. Using the steering wheel, align the front wheels forward. 2. Set the transmission in the PARK position. 3. Install the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC). 4. Turn the ignition switch ON, with the engine OFF. 5. Select Vehicle Control Systems/Module Setup/EBCM/Steering Pos. Sensor Calibration. 6. Follow the scan tool directions to complete the automated centering procedure this should include turning the steering wheel left 5 degrees and right 5 degrees and then straight forward. 7. Clear any DTCs that may be set. Perform the Diagnostic System Check to verify no current DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle . 8. Centering of the steering angle sensor is complete.

I found my upper drivers side to be loose. And getting anything other than a closed end wrench on the bottom is all I can do myself. Since the bottom is tight I'm not going to mess with it for now. |

My ZL1 is a 2018 (Nov 2017 build date) and it looks like GM may have made some changes. The lower sway bar links are marked with blue paint to see if they move. I have 2300 miles with an hour on the road course. They were tight.
I will continue to monitor.

The links design with only one nut to torque and the other side no way to hold it is the problem I think. It was rather tricky to get mine torqued to spec. I can easily see a worker with no attention to detail not getting these endlinks tight correctly the first time. |
