kooks 17/8 Longtube headers

I was wondering if anyone in Virginia who has to pass emmissions has installed these headers on the stock exhaust system with the "green" cats. I have heard that these will still throw a CEL unless the rear cats are deactivated. I would love to install these headers with the green cats but dont want to have to deal with emmissions compliance. Also would be interested if anyone could suggest a shop that would be trustworthy to add a tune once the headers and green cats were installed. I have talked with Kooks about this and while they were great to talk with and gave me a lot of information they could not suggest anyone in this area who could be helpful with this. If anyone has done this in the No va, area I sure would love to hear how it worked out for you.

sorry for the late response but figured I would reply as I have the answer for you. I have this exact setup, and as for emissions you will pass as I did, the only issue is the check engine light. I recommend Virginia Speed in Virginia Beach for tuning, they have done a lot of work with LS motors and so far have proven to be pretty proficient with the LT platform as well. Again, sorry for the late response but figured I'd throw this in. Also, good job getting ahold of kooks, I've been trying to get in touch with them for 13 months now.......

Prs, thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. Even though I am located in Northern Va. Virginia beach is an option. ( about 4 hours away from me) Was wondering how you liked the addition of the headers and if you felt it was worthwhile. Thanks again. Curious if you did any Dyno numbers?

Why not get it inspected in another county? Down here in Fredericksburg we have no emissions tests. I can recommend a very friendly inspector 10min off I95. PM me if interested.
