what is it about 1Le that would make you want it in a automatic? One way you can think about the 1Le is that it’s as close as you can get to a pro touring Camaro from the factory,it’s a drivers car .

It still would be a drivers car with an auto, just faster. I've owned 52 manual cars over my life, the autos are just that much better now. That's why the ZR1 and Z06 come with them now and are more of a performance car than the Camaro.

I don’t want my 1le in an automatic. If you want a 1le buy one. I think it would ruin what makes the 1le special to put an automatic in it.. then it would be like any other offering.

I keep hearing the auto would make it faster..... in straight lines maybe. But we already know the zl1/1le is faster on the track than it’s automatic counter part.

I can see why some would want it though. The appeal of getting the tuned suspension, extra coolers, e-diff etc makes it like a unicorn because they can’t or don’t want to drive a manual. I wanted those things as well. So i put my big boy pants on and relearned my manual skills. Hadn’t driven one since the 90s. Now I can’t imagine going back

You made some good points but this one part always bothers me when I see it brought up. I think this notion is completely wrong, I actually think broadening the "1LE Brand" is awesome, and in my mind the only thing that makes the 1LE "special" is exactly what it is, suspension/handling upgrades that contribute to an amazing track car.

I'm all for more 1LEs personally..... BUT as others have said the whole "why not auto/A10 1LE" I fundamentally disagree with.... being manual only is part of what makes the 1LE special so it needs to stay that way!

That small difference in speed is not worth the separation of car and driver . If you haven’t learned that over the period of 52 cars don’t bother looking at a 1Le because it’s not for you .

I've learned over 52 cars that looking at the taillights of an automatic while you're playing with your stick is not my cup of tea. But hey, to each their own. Hang back and have that "connection" with your car.

I'm all for the turbo 1LE, might even be on my list of autocross cars to have depending what class they put it in. It may not sell as well as a SS 1LE but its there for the people who want a sportier camaro turbo than just the same one that everyone else gets. For the person who cant afford the v8 but still wants the thrill of owning a sports car... for the person who is thinking BRZ.... but wants idk, power? lol

Seems like you like your cup of tea in your right hand while driving, which is fine .

I would be happy with a nice aero roof rack that could hold 4 tires.

A troll? Not quite, I contribute to a lot of threads. I just have zero tolerance for idiots. I'll be at camarofest if anyone would like to debate in person instead of hide behind a keyboard.
