Whipple and LT4 hpfp

Can someone please confirm that the LT4 hpfp will fit under the stock lt1 whipple blower? Whipple says I need to spend another $500 on a new gear case. Others are saying it’ll fit. Just trying to figure out what to expect when in it’s time to install.

First I've ever heard of this - many have done LT4 HPFP and other upgrades without issue. You should be fine.

Dennis with Whipple stated the below.

"The LT1 and LT4 's do have different gear covers. The new gear cover is $550.00 The LT4 is a billet cover and it is notched to clear the pump"

Update. Ted from Jannettyracing also said he replaced the gear cover as well when doing LT4 HPFP.

Shinysun, did you have to do any modifications to get yours to fit? This old thread suggested you might need to do a little grinding for clearance.

I spoke to Ted and he believes that the new generation blowers will clear the pump. He said that the older ones would not. I hope this is the case because my car has been in the shop for 3 weeks now.

I actually spoke to the shop that just did mine and he said he was able to make it work. I don't know the exact particulars but good to know you don't have to drop the additional coin.

If it were true I would say shame on whipple. Why would you make a blower that limits you to future upgrades and require people to spend extra money if they want to do said upgrades?? They are already the highest priced system and I would imagine most people who are adding a blower would eventually do other upgrades. Makes no sense to me. Just make one cover that fits both pumps.
