Borla exhaust/tuning problems
This may already be on here somewhere but I can't find it if it is. I installed the borla atak axle back exhaust with the mid pipe x pipe 2nd cat delete without afm on my camaro ss A8. I'm getting a cel p069e which says "fuel pump control module. My tuner sent me a tune to try and fix it. The cel light is still on but now it says there is no codes. Car seems to be running fine. Can someone shed some light on this and help a brother out.

Did you call Borla? They had a problem where they made the holes in the AFM valves too small. They should replace it for you.

Op, Sounds like this is the valves that need to be turned off, or the code turned off in the FPCM. However, I do not fully know the answer. I am awaiting a response though as I will be installing valveless exhaust and catless longtubes in the next couple weeks. |

If you deleted the AFM modules your tuner will have to delete them in the fuel pump control module. This is an extra credit from HP Tuners.

I was expecting a code but the tuner I had bought my SCT BDX tuner from said that he could tune it out, even though I had only seen that HP Tuners could do it with an additional credit purchase. I installed the Borla to my Kooks axle back/delete and it tripped the P069E. I knew that even though it said "fuel pump control module" that I had not touched that and that I had no leaks in my install. CEL stayed on after battery pull, a code reset, a couple of drives. This was AFTER the initial tune to remove the AFM functionality. The tuner sent me another tune and sure enough just like you are getting, I got a CEL but now had no codes showing when trying to retrieve them with the SCT BDX. Pretty annoying. From everything I found researching it, I had two options - to change to HP Tuners or to find a set of AFM Delete Modules which used to be made for the 2016 A8. I found a set in the member for sale section here from an awesome user who sent them to me to try and see if they helped. Installed them and they instantly cleared the CEL, now no AFM, awesome (loud) sound and been good ever since. Unfortunately I don't think they are being made anymore and I think 2016 was the only year they definitely worked on. Now if you have HP Tuners - then I have no idea what the issue is. ![]() TLDR; When using a tuner other than HP Tuners, I got a code after installing the Borla 60606 even after having the AFM feature disabled via tune. I was only able to correct that with the AFM Delete Modules purchased used from a member here. |

I'm using the same programmer. Sct/bdx. I just sent my tuner your response to see if he can tune it out. I'm guessing he can't tho or he would have already. I may have to look into hp tuners if that one can tune it out. The cel is annoying as hell so I gotta get rid of it. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a dealer/tuner for hp tuners?

This is what I plan on doing to. Just keep the AFM modules plugged into the harness but REMOVED from the exhaust and zip tie 'em up to the frame somewhere. I had read that procedure on here somewhere. Seems like an easy fix.
