17" wheels over 1ss/1le rear breaks?

Hey guys can I fit a 17" x 10" wheel over my rear breaks? These wheels I'm looking at are C6 Corvette wheels. 275/40/17 tires are one them. The owner said that his buddy is running 17" wheels on his 1ss. But I'm not sure that they are the same breaks as the 1le.

I'm not sure they will fit. I haven't tried to do it but I just put 18's on the rear of my 2SS last night an there's about a 1/4 inch between the caliper and the rim.

Could simply be the wheel s that I bought.

Ouch. 18" and no space... That's gonna be a squeeze I think.

Could simply be the wheel I bought but it's really tight. I want to say that I've read others on here say they have run 17's

I keep reading and measuring. I'm thinking I'm going to pass on the wheels. I don't want this dude to drive down here for nothing.

FYI: The C6 Corvette never came with any kind of 17" wheel.

I can’t believe all the people in here making fun of the guy because he typed ‘breaks’ three times.
Unreal.

If 17's fit on the rear, would 18's fit all the way around an SS for winter stuff?

Yes, go through the wheel classifieds. There were some examples there, hopefully they weren’t deleted.
